I have been representing injured workers in Santa Clara County and the Bay Area since 1980. I am a certified specialist by the State Bar of California. I have chaired the California State Bar and Santa Clara County Bar sections for workers’ compensation. I am the founding chair of the Santa Clara County Chapter of the California Applicants’ Attorneys Association (CAAA) and of the Santa Clara County Workers’ Compensation Attorneys Association (SCCWCAA). I am a frequent lecturer for CAAA and have been on the Board of Directors for over 15 years.

I have said it before and I will say it again. My Attorney, Mr. Borah, is a godsend to me. He was able to obtain a justifiable settlement in my struggle with Workmen’s Compensation — this after years of them not acknowledging my injury. Although this injury occurred during the two decades I spent with my Employer under demanding physical conditions, Workmen’s Comp decided I WASN’T WORTH being compensated. Of course, that was BEFORE Mr. Brett Borah intervened. He forced them to see the LIGHT! He was relentless in pursuing justice for me. Mr. Borah completed the task I presented him. I cannot say enough nice things about Mr. Andrew Shaffer. I have had an open workers comp case for over 5 years and he helped me pretty much reach a settlement in no time at all. In my very first hour of consult with Andrew, it was clear that he was thorough, extremely knowledgeable in the matters of workers comp and most importantly very keen on helping, rather than clocking hours. There are not a lot of lawyers (or any service professionals for that matter) that put your needs ahead of their need to make money.
If you are looking for a fancy, pretentious lawyer’s office, be warned that this is not the place you want to go. If you are looking for simple minded lawyers looking to help the community with their excellent skill sets, this is your place to go to.

Mr. Borah and Mr. Shaffer are fantastic attorneys that specialize in Workers’ Compensation law. I have had occasion to refer many patients to them for representation. All are pleased. I have worked with Mr. Borah for going on 20 years. They fight for the rights of clients and will not recommend settlement if it is not fair. With all workers’ compensation attorneys, there is often times a delay before they return calls. Realize that they are paid from the clients settlement, there is no retainer, or other up front fees.
