The staff was very nice and warm. The food was awesome and we will definitely be coming back. Great ribs and my husband raved about the baked beans.

Some BBQ restaurants are good at smoked plates, some are good at ribs. It’s usually one of the other. Here’s your tip: GETTHERIBS. I made the mistake of trying other things here previously, and the ribs are their specialty. Get an order of ribs with sweet tea and brunswick stew and thank me later.

Stopped by today. I know it was the 4th of July but the take out was anything but fast. Two sandwiches and fries took 30 minutes. There were people dining in that were coming up to the counter saying that they had been waiting over a hour.

We stopped here on a whim and really enjoyed it. The food was very good and the atmosphere was exactly what you’d hope to find at a BBQ restaurant. We’ll be back.

I’m not a big BBQ person. I like it every once in awhile. So I don’t have a lot to compare Slopes too. I thought pork was very good. Not too fatty. The sauce was just ok. I’ve had better but I’ve had worse. Fries were average. Baked beans were pretty good and I am usually very picky about those. It was a little pricey for lunch in my opinion. My husband didn’t like the Mac and cheese but liked everything else.

Maybe I went on a wrong day or something… The brisket was grey in color with very little to no smoke ring. The girls knew nothing about rubs etc. the brisket wasn’t trimmed and fatty throughout. I will not return. I have had BBQ all over and even at home. I would go to Jim and Nicks before here any day!

Food is good but price is too high for what little food you get. Others must agree, they never seem crowded.

Great BBQ! I’m not in the area often, but always make a stop at Slopes if possible. The only knock on them is that their prices are a little on the high side.

As a huge fan of BBQ done the southeast way, we were really disappointed in Slopes. high prices were one thing, but«boiled» ribs covered in sauce? Well, trust me — you can’t hide boiled ribs with a gallon of sauce. They were disgusting. The pulled pork is OK I guess if your desperate for a BBQ sandwich, but not worth what they get for it IMHO. If you want really good BBQ drive a few miles further north to Dawsonville and stop at Big D’s — or get even better Q at Sherry’s BBQ on hwy 53 going towards Gainesville.

The prices are going up. $ 10 for a pull pork sandwich at lunch is a bit expensive. Also 3% if you pay with CC.

If you love BBQ, you will love the Slopes location on Hwy 20 going towards Canton. I always get the BBQ salad. It is a large freshly made salad. The staff there is wonderful. My husband loves the ribs. The sweet potatoes fries are heavenly. My daughter devours her pork sandwich & she loves the sweet sauce.

This is the sister store to my other regular BBQ joint. This BBQ is average for the area(could use a little more smoke flavor) but by no means flavorless. Great sauces!!! The hot sauce is a North Carolina style, the regular sauce is kinda Kansas City and they also have a mustard sauce. The sides are incredible! MUSTS are: fried okra, jalapeño cheese grits, Brunswick Stew, and Collards. The hands down best desert is the BlackBerry Cobbler Ala mode. The Ribs and Chicken are no slouches either, very flavorful. But I’m a pulled pork guy.

Honestly, I wonder if the other reviewers are employees, because I am a BBQ lover and found it VERY lacking. From the unfriendly staff to the left-over tasting meat, it just did not impress my family. Much better to be had for less. Don’t waste your money.

I give it 5 ribs. A good consistent choice for ordering out or eating in. The place is hidden off Route 9 behind the Brusters and the World Booze liquor store or something, lol. I was there years ago for the grand opening and still go, very nice, friendly, homey. The chicken, the ribs, the sandwiches, the sides, all good. Brusters is a nice too for an after dinner ice cream treat!

For me to give a BBQ place 4 stars– it’s real good! Lol. I’m not a huge BBQ fan. I can take it or leave it but this BBQ is really good. Their sauce isn’t too sweet which I loved! They have a lot of good side dishes. Everything we had was good– fried okra, Mac n cheese, Brunswick stew– it was all fantastic. And the staff are very friendly.

I’m always looking for great bbq. Slopes has good pork, a great selection of sides, and generous portions. Plus really good sweet tea. Definitely a spot worth revisiting again and again.

If God ate BBQ this is where he would go. This is pure BBQROYALTY, no fancy odds and ends or white tables with wine lists. This is true southern bench tables, sides like your Sunday dinner would have, its comfort food for the soul.

Pretty good BBQ, not the best in the world but I would come back again. Here is a breakdown of what I ordered and my thoughts: BBQ Pork Sandwich: Pork was a tad dry but made it better by splashing sauce on it Fried Okra: Pretty good! Black eyed Peas: A little too watery for my taste but not bad The interior of the restaurant is also cool and creates a warm inviting atmosphere with its farm artifacts scattered around. It’s kind of like cracker barrel.

Being a southern chick, I always find it difficult to find honest to goodness GOODBBQ. Douglasville is my hometown, so in my eyes, every BBQ joint I try has to be as good as Hudson’s, and that’s no easy feat. Slope’s is probably the first BBQ place I’ve found that satisfied my need for true good southern BBQ with the hospitality to match. The staff greeted us as soon as we walked in the door. They could tell we were newbies to Slope’s so they offered help with the menu. I think the choice of sandwich and plates is as good as it should be, and the offereings of sides match the BBQ feel well. The price was right for our family of 4. After making our choices, our total was exactly $ 40. I got the HUGEBBQ pork sandwich, with collards, black eyed peas and a bowl of stew. Stew, for me, is the make or break of any business that calls themselves a BBQ house. I certainly was not let down by the stew at Slope’s. Thick and full of shredded meat with a vinegar finish. The pork was tender and moist, and comes very lightly sauced on the sandwich. All of the sauce choices are vinegar based — so if that’s not your style, you will be disappointed. We drove about 25 miles to eat at Slope’s in Cumming, and it was well worth it.
