I am only writing this review after not 1, but 2 bad experiences with Forsyth Animal Hospital. The first time was a year ago when our dog had some behavioral issues. Seeking advise to help calm our beloved family dogs anxiety issues in which he had snapped and growled at us a handful of times… Forsyth County Animal Hospitals Dr. Wood who is also the Medical Director for the Forsyth County Humane Society, advised us to euthanize our dog. I was quite taken back as I thought a vet would suggest this measure as an absolute last result. We certainly did not take her advise, and over the past year worked lovingly with him helping him to feel more secure. This week we again had a visit with Dr. Wood to look at a skin ailment on our dog. Let me mention here that that same dog recently had three shots at a shot clinic and behaved perfectly… but when Dr. Wood approached our dog he growled. He did not snap, or threaten to bite. He growled. Which for an animal with a tender spot is completely understandable. Now I am not defending our dog growling. I wish he didn’t. But the point is Dr. Wood was enraged. I proceeded to get a harsh lecture about how my dog nearly but her in the face, which was a total exaggeration. She said, «Didn’t I talk to you a year ago about what you should do with this dog?!» I don’t know, maybe it’s me, but I would think a vets go to wouldn’t be to euthanize a beloved family pet upon a simple growl. I think my advise would be for Dr. Wood to find a different career.
