Accuspect Home Inspection

I highly recommend Gary Edge from Accuspect. He is exactly the person you want inspecting a home before you buy!
Not only was he on time and incredibly professional, he impressed me with his attention to detail. He explored the entire roof and all aspects of the attic, places where many inspectors just stand at the bottom and look. He is also very thorough in opening and inspecting every window and light switch and checking each tub and sink not only works, but also that they don’t leak. He brings his own ladders, flashlights, tools and meters. He was also very considerate of the homeowners, wearing shoe covers and minding the doors for the owners cats. Many in the building trades are not so considerate.
The report arrived the same day because the company is careful not to over-​schedule their inspectors. The report was incredibly detailed and specific with plenty of photographs of problem areas. Made it very easy to create a punch list.

On 4÷20÷14 Gary Edge with Accuspect was completing an inspection for the people purchasing our home, when he tore a shutter off our master bedroom window. The shutter was 3w x 5h and faced the front of our house. It cost $ 357.90 to replace. I have repeated emailed and called Accuspect but they refuse to take responsibility. I provided the invoice and offered to provide the cancelled check to prove it was replaced.
Gary tried to say it was defective. I have photos proving the wood and screws were not defective. He tried to say I told him my son climbed up the shutter, and it was his fault. My son climbed up one of the other 12 shutters on the window, about 6 years ago, and we replaced that shutter.
This is not a grudge complaint. The people he did the inspection for, purchased our house. This is a simple case of him acting unprofessionally and refusing to take responsibility for his negligent actions. I would definitely not use Accuspect!
