Gehauf’s Restaurant

Stopped into the Gehaufs part of this place (Hennys is the bar-​style area) and had lunch with the boss. It was a Sunday — I ordered a chicken club and she got a southwest salad.
ATMOSPHERE: Plain and simple the place needs updated. It has looked the same since I was 5 — and don’t get me wrong that is fine for the crowd they usually get (older) but it may not be suitable if they are trying to pack the place repeatedly. It was clean and the staff was friendly! (⁷⁄₁₀)
FOOD: My sandwich was done very well — was actually surprised. The ciabatta bread wasn’t burnt or old– and the chicken was perfectly cooked — the bacon was crisp and the lettuce and tomato was fresh. Fries came out hot as well. The boss’s salad looked good– tasted good but the lettuce looked a little rough. Not to be picky but that’s just my observation.
SERVICE: Server was friendly and made sure we had refills (carafe) and that our food came out quickly.
I WOULD RECOMMEND TRYING IT — DONT BE SCARED BY THE DECOR! Good food.

Had the special «The Belly Buster». Was a delicious bacon cheeseburger, served with fries and coleslaw. The burger itself was 1 lb and piled so high you needed a knife and fork to eat. The bun was fresh and the burger was cooked perfectly.
They also have the best Wedge Salad!!!
Have been here a number of times in the last couple months and the food has been consistently good.

The sautéed mussels are the best I’ve had anywhere! The turkey & dressing is always great.
