Sleep Number

We bought our first Sleep Number bed in 1997.
Have never had any problems at all. It has served us well and will be moved to the guest room because it still works good.
Culver City Store.
We were debating on which location to visit and we chose Culver City. Sure happy we did! Steven the Mgr. was so knowledgeable and very pleasant to deal with! We just purchased the Flex CA King and looking forward to the adjustability it offers, especially for the snoring control :)

As a previous owner, I know these beds are the best on the planet. However when I dropped 7,700 dollars on a bed and frame with everything I noticed that the salesman Andrea screwed up my address on my paperwork. I brought it to his attention before I left the store, and he promised me he would get it fixed.
The next day I get a call from the delivery department and the address was still wrong!
I then took care of myself and called the company and spent an hour changing all the address and information that was wrong .
I filled out an unhappy survey and the manager emailed me with an apology.
Fast forward two weeks and guess where my first shipment went… Yep to the wrong address.
Bottom line, don’t be that guy or girl who drops big money on a good bed and have the salesman take the commission and give you the finger on your way out of that store. I am cancelling my order.

Love, love, LOVE my bed! Had a wonderful experience with the store manager, Steve! Extremely professional and never pushy like the other mattress companies I went to.
Like with all businesses, you tend to read the bad before the good, but after reading Consumer Reports (and of course trying the beds out), I was sold! My bad back from being a college athlete is nearly a thing of the past. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not instantly cured, but I don’t dread sleeping anymore and I absolutely don’t toss and turn all night like I did on my antiquated spring mattress.
Annoyed that I waited so long to pull the trigger! This company even has clinical trials from top universities if you’re having issues like mine and are tired of chiropractors, ibuprofen, etc.
Check them out!

1. The bed we have is terrible
2. Its under the 100 day trial and we wanted to return it
3. We want to return everything, including the base
4. We tried to exchange it
5. Exchange was supposed to happen today.
6. I had to cancel plans to see my family the day before thanksgiving
7. You called me this morning to tell me the bed wasn’t coming today.
8. Your customer service was supposed to call me back and never did.
9. I am fed up with your company, I want my account cancelled and the bed returned.

The warranty is misleading. It is not a 20 year warranty, the warranty goes down 4% every year and if anything goes wrong you have to repair the bed yourself. Do not buy one of these beds, unless you are a do it yourself person. This company does not support its customers at all, and you have to pay for the part.
The store was great, the Select Comfort Company does not help their customers and the chat on their website doesn’t even work. Maybe too many complaints.

They only get one star because the people in the store were very nice. The company itself deserves –5 Stars. After paying a LOT of money for a bed, they delivered the wrong components and are taking their sweet time to fix the problem. If you do anything, go to another company and get a bed. They are not professional and don’t rush to fix the problem (that WILL occur with your order one way or another). They already took our old mattress and we’re stuck sleeping on a VERY uncomfortable bed. I have had back surgery and this is not fun!!! In my option: Do not buy one of their beds. It will turn into a nightmare from my experience. Shame on you Sleep Number. Go back to school and major in customer service.

People in the store are nice but this is simply a front for the worst version of a 1980s mail order fiasco. You see you aren’t buying the bed from the store, you’re buying it from a centralized nationwide warehouse. This is what everyone dislikes about corporate America. They don’t care because they don’t have to. They have your money already. Avoid this nightmare. You will not get anything resembling customer service AFTER the nice sales lady gives you the song and dance in the store. The bed is nice but the folks in Minnesota have no idea what any other department is doing. The delivery people don’t know what you ordered because they can’t see the «other system.» The phone bank people in Minnesota can’t see the delivery system so when they screw up they have no idea when a delivery person might be back. Long and short of this is, we order a $ 5k bed and paid $ 200 for delivery and set up by an «expert» and because he «didn’t know» we ordered an IQ with the mattress pad, the IQ pump sat in the box on the floor. When I called and stayed on hold for 20 minutes to «customer service» they put in a request to delivery who will get back to me, we don’t know when they might get back to me nor do we know when they might be able to come back to correct their error.

I wish I could post «zero» star, but since 1 is the least I can report, I would go with 1. I have reserved sleep number bed, one of the luxury line during the labor day to take advantage of the sales that was going on. Since I was in the process of buying a new home, I requested and confirmed and confirmed again, to have the shipment delivered after I move into a new house and notify them of the delivery date.
A week later, the seller of the house called my broker, pretty upset, that they received a huge box addressed to me and that I am jumping the gun. I was so embarrassed, to say the least, and took the day off from work the next day to retrieve the bulky box and returned it, without even opining the box. I also called the store to cancel the whole order, for they may deliver the mattress itself the next.
Now, the financing company keeps calling me, demanding the payment I supposedly owe them for the shipment. When I told them that the order was returned the next day as a way of delivery refusal via same UPS company, they said that they need the proof. So now I have to ask the store to send me the cancellation paperwork, which obviously has not been done until now, it seems, after over a month (this fiasco happened on ⁹⁄₁₆).
I don’t care how excellent their product is; if the customer service and after care is this horrific, no one can trust them to carry through what they have promised. I was debating whether I should go back to the store and get the mattress again after my escrow closes, but now am really glad that I cancelled the order.
Be very careful of what they promise and any type of out of the norm request, for they will not only not have the ability to follow through with it, but will charge you for the things you cancelled and do not have. On top of closing the escrow and moving, now I have to deal with searching and solving the cancellation order.
One of the most horrible experiences I have ever had!!!

I feel bad saying this because they had excellent customer service — and Sleep Number has great sheets, but their bed experience basically sucked — we returned ours after three months — in comparison to a traditional bed, it just didn’t cut the mustard.

The 30 day return deal is only for the mattress. They don’t tell you this at check out but the bed frame is not returnable. Frame costs $ 3,500

I wish there were two separate rating options. The store itself was great. I was assisted by the manager Rick, who was a ton of help and didn’t pressure me to buy any extra bells and whistles. I bought my bed a week ago and my bed isn’t going to be delivered until February. WHAT A BURDEN!!! If Sleep Number knows that they don’t have times to accommodate to paying customers when it comes to delivery then they should make that clear at the store. Just got off of the phone with a representative that said she needs to put in a special order to have my bed delivered on Saturday. Are you serious?! Not only that, but they don’t deliveries on Monday, so it’s Tuesday — Saturday. I’m not going to ask for a day off from work so I can have them send me my bed. I paid a pretty penny for the bed you would think they would accommodate to the customer. RIP Customer Service.
Update: I was contacted by customer service and they apologized for the situation that arose. I wish I wouldn’t have had to write a review in order to have my bed delivered quicker, but the fact that Sleep Number took the time to read my post and fix the problem is very commendable. I love my bed and if I have the money will definitely decide to upgrade my bed. Thank you for listening to your customers and helping out.
Original rating was 2 stars, but I’ve bumped it up to 3 because of the feedback I received and my bed being delivered quicker. The only reason it is not a 4 star is because I had to write a review where I wasn’t 100% satisfied.

The 3 stars are for the store. The customer service beyond the store is absolutely horrible.
The staff in this store are extremely friendly and helpful. They don’t rush you into a decision. However, once you decided to buy, they will try to cross-​sell the heck out of you. They tried to sell me everything, from the modular base to the sheet, pillows, you name it. Hence, the 3 stars instead of 4 or 5.
They convinced me that I need a modular base although I told them I have a platform bed. They said I can cancel it anytime if I decide down the line that I don’t need it. So I did… and that’s when the nightmare began.
When I called the scheduling dept for my delivery, I asked them to cancel the modular base. The rep I talked to said they couldn’t do it at that point because they’d have to redo the invoice since they’re all part of the same invoice. She also told me that I can return it later, all I needed to do is call the Customer Service number and request for a return authorization. I asked about return shipping fee, at least 3 times, and each time she said return shipping is FREE. Yep, 3x I asked. She must’ve thought I’m a bit slow, but I just wanted to make sure.
The bed arrived, I assembled it (FYI, having a friend to help assemble would be helpful). I called the Customer Service line the next day trying to get the RMA. The rep said I can ship the item with UPS for about $ 59 – 60, or use my own method. I asked her about the free return shipping and repeatedly told her that the free shipping was promised by another agent within their company. She kept on saying «I understand.» — which is very annoying because clearly she didn’t. I asked her to talk to her Manager or call the scheduling dept, or check the conversation record (anything to prove that I wasn’t lying). She put me on hold for a LONG time (long enough time for me to take a shower!) Then she came back with the same answer. I also told her that I have another pending order in my account, $ 1800 worth, that I would cancel unless this was resolved. That didn’t phase her at all. She still said «I understand» — like some dumb robot.
There’s a happy ending to this story (no, not that kind of happy ending). I filed a complaint with BBB and it was resolved rather quickly to my favor. They refunded the modular base and the shipping fee 100%, but I still cancelled my other order.

Simply put, the absolute most comfortable mattresses. If you have back pain or are tired of your bed sagging you need a sleepnumber bed.
The service is outstanding, very knowledgeable. They even have a computer that will show you your pressure points.
My number was 30.
They also have adjustable bases that allow your bed to sit up and lift up your legs.
My favorite was the M7. Pricy but worth it.
