Excellent efficient service.
I called in and got a same day appt. Filled out a couple of pages of info and I was back waiting for my check up. (That was record time.) I have been to places and had to wait for up to 30 min.
I had to get my blood drawn I really didn’t want to but the young lady that drew the blood did such a good gob I was surprised that she was finished.
I was Dr. Lin very caring .I am looking forward to the same excellent service on my follow up .
I had read a few of the previous post and was concerned. The reception addressed my concerns. And the proof was in the visit.
I have never reviewed a business before on Unilocal.But I was compiled to do it this time because my experience was opposite of done the bad reviews …
I recommend this office … Especially if you hate getting blood drawn !!! You never feel the needle …

Worst Doctors office I ever experienced!!!
Don’t normally write reviews but I could let this one slide…
So far I’ve dealt with Doctor Shechter’s office… Twice I’ve been let down
First time, I went to do a simple physical… Never did my blood work the first time, they called me again the second time and of course I had to pay… Called them back to see I can get my results, they told they’ll call me back… Never heard from them again. Figured everything was alright on my end.
Second time…
I tore my calf muscle… Needed a referral for an orthopedic doctor… Told me they’ll call me back the next day with an appointment. Never got a call back. I call them back four days later… They gave me the run around. Takes 10 days to get a referral. That’s fine. So they finally gave me a number to book my appointment… Well that other doctors appointment never got my paperwork… Called that same doctor 2 days later… Still haven’t received my paper. Called my doctor’s office again… Gave me the run around…
It has been 2 weeks since Ive torn my calf muscle… Not one doctor has checked my shit out. Im literally sitting here with badly bruised leg from my calf down to my Achilles. Using the RICE method to hopefully heal my calf…

Dr. Shechter is mine and my husband’s PCP through Aetna. Instead of seeing Shechter, Dr. Lin was there. She was nice, all was well with my blood work. I requested referrals for two specialists — chiropractor and podiatrist for my plantar fasciitis. She said she would have it sent in. After about 1 ½ weeks, I had not received my letters. I called the office and spoke to the staff. They said it would be here the following week and they will fax in the request. Three weeks later, no letters to me or to the insurance company. I called the office and spoke again to the front desk staff, and some woman says that she will check on it again call me back today. I told her to please call me today.
So far, I am not happy with this office and the way they are conducting business.

Do not go here. Wait is around 2 hours. Dr. Shechter isn’t seeing any new patients only Dr. Lin who only works on Thursdays. They pile the appointments. When I was referred to a specialist they sent me to K-​town. The doctor and staff barely spoke any English. Therefore I couldn’t get my questions answered. I feel bad for the staff here because by the hour and a half mark all the patients are pissed. Also when i finally saw Dr. Lin she seemed unsure of how to handle my case therefore off to a specialist. So I mainly wait here over 2 hours just to get a referral and to pay a stupid copay. DO NOT GO HERE. A nurse just admitted they double book all their appointments.
Dr. Lin doesn’t seem to diagnose or help. All she does is write referrals can’t answer concerns properly.

Giving 2 stars just because they are always short of staff and never ever on time. Give yourself at least 1 – 2 hours extra because you’ll be waiting to be seen!

This review is for Dr. Schechter’s staff and administration because I was seen by Dr. Lin instead, since Dr. Shechter was not in.
First I had to wait for 2 hours after my appointment to be seen! Once I was seen, Dr. Lin was pretty straight forward. She gave me my referrals to specialists and sent me on my way.
Now the run around began with the staff. For some reason I wasn’t sent copies of my referrals, so I couldn’t schedule any appointments. Every time I called, the main woman I needed to talk to wasn’t there. I would leave a voicemail and she wouldn’t get back to me. I finally got a hold of her a week later, and she said that they would send me copies. A week later, nothing. I called again, I was told they were sent, nothing. FINALLY, I said that I’m pretty sure that the staff hasn’t sent me anything, her response, «Okay I’ll send it today.»
They seem to be very unorganized, the wait is ridiculous, and there is no parking.

Red Flag right into my first visit that was suppose to be with my PCP, never saw him, I was told I would be seeing his partner physician. I wasn’t told at the time I made my appointment and wasn’t told when my appointment was confirmed the day before. After filling out what seemed a book report about my medical history I sat down and waited. With any new insurance your allowed one preventive physical per year at no copay. That was the main reason I went in, unfortunately I developed a small issue (chronic) and wrote it in the medical questionnaire I was given. After waiting for half hour (they were running late) the receptionist called out my name and said” Ms. if your going to discuss anything other than your preventive physical you will have to pay your $ 60 copay now” I was super puzzled, I said to her I’m a first time patient haven’t seen the doctor yet and I’m pretty sure my medical history will be discussed. She repeated herself again stating she would need to collect my copay if I discussed anything else. CLEARLY my $ 60 copay was the star of my visit and nothing else. I was even directed to the «billing guy» who attempted to tell me that if I discussed anything other than my preventive exam it would change the way the visit is coded. I was called back to an exam room and my vitals were taken, Dr. Lin came in and briefly went over the medical history forms I’d filled out. She asked me a couple questions and I said I’m here for preventive exam but I have a small issue I was told I can’t discuss with you because it’s not related to my preventive. she nodded her head and kept going, at that point I realized she had been briefed by the front office staff about what was said. The front sheet I filled out had a section where you write in any current issues. The doctor DID NOT ask me or address it. I was very disappointed because my symptoms were hand and arm numbness with pain. I sat there and let her finish her quick exam, when she finished she told me «ok I’ll code this as your preventive exam»
NEWSFLASH! your not doing me a favor! PCP’s get a monthly capitation payment whether I come in once a year or five times in one month. Having worked closely in a doctors office for 20 years I’m aware on how my insurance works along with coding. A preventive can be billed along with any other chronic problem a person may have. The IPA will pay you the same amount regardless of the diagnosis. There was absolutely no reason to be turn away as far as my minor health complaint that probably only needed advise. What was important was to collect my copay and nothing else. I walked out of there feeling worse than when I came in. I’m aware that HMO’s are not liked, however, premiums are paid and therefore I expect an ounce of quality care and interest in my health
I called my insurance company and filed a complaint and switched myself and my family to another PCP.

I HATE going to doctors because 1. they’re never open on weekends which means I have to take a day off 2. it’s never you get in and you get out. Long useless waits are involved 3. They always tell me something that I already know.
Btw this is right at DT culver. which means no free parking around. I advise you to park at the downtown free structures and walk unless you want to pay $ 2 for every 15 min you’re there (and you’ll be there for at least an hour) or $ 1.50/1hr at the meters (if you can even find an open one).
Very easy to make an appointment via ZocDoc. Reviews there were better than here’s so I was like «Why not just give him a chance? it’s next to my apt.»
Elevators are slow as balls and open at EVERY floor. Once I reached the penthouse (where his office is located), I bursted into the stuffy hallway and into the AC-​ed room (hallelujah!!)
His staff is top notch by the way. The receptionist was kind and even took over doing the blood pressure, weight and height measurements because she knew my meter time was expiring. The male nurse was AMAZING. I would come here again just for him. He was very knowledgeable and commanded his actions with so much confidence that I didn’t feel uneasy when he was giving me my impromptu blood draw. He answered all my questions that the doctor didn’t give me a chance to ask. This was also the first time I got my blood drawn without it hurting or me fainting. He was also very enjoyable to be around too! You rock!
But this rating is for Dr. Shechter. I came in with a lot of maladies (I hope my real life friends don’t see this): A uti, some dry nose/​mucus build up problem, and a toe fungus. He asked ZERO questions to confirm my symptoms. He didn’t even whip out that light conical device to look up my nose. NOTHING. Webmd served more purpose than he did!
AND why did he prescribe a yeast infection medicine in addition to my antibiotics, which ended up costing me $ 12 for ONE pill ?! And why did he prescribe me athlete’s foot ointment (which I could get WITHOUT a prescription) for my toe nail fungus? On the package, it even said to NOT put it on my nails. And online research says that this topical shiz won’t help.
I called back later to ask for an oral cure (says webmd) for this toe fungus. Not only did I diagnose myself, I also suggested my own treatment. Really?! What did I pay you for?!
I’m awaiting his call tomorrow. Dr. Shechter, you are a sweet old man, but you have some serious splanin’ to do.

You would think after the care I received that escalated to the level of threatening a lawyer’s involvement, that they’d keep my file on hand and remember me the next time I came in. You’d also think that if I ask for a referral, they’d send me one, or even better yet– not accuse me of lying when I say I didn’t receive it several weeks after the fact.
But maybe that’s just me. I used to have doctors that actually cared about me.
I can’t wait until the end of this year when I can pick a different doctor. I don’t even mind having to start over on my premiums.
