Santa Maria Barbeque Catering

I’m a transplant from Santa Maria to Culver City and this place is the REAL DEAL! Makes me feel like I’m back home driving down Broadway on a Saturday. Everything is great here!
Just a tip: traditionally, you’re not supposed to eat the BBQ with sauce, but with salsa.

Just had lunch here again, and it was SO good! Love their tri-​tip and the pulled pork. They don’t drown the meat in sauce and let you add to your liking. Also, the staff has always been very friendly. Just off of Venice, there is plenty of free street parking. Only a couple of picnic tables, so best to get take out. I highly recommend!

We’ve been loyal fans for quite some time now. But today, we placed a careful order for a chicken sandwich special ($ 12) and instead got some kind of beef. Not the end of the world. But when we called back, it was quite clear that Santa Maria BBQ really don’t care about treating customers as if they are valued or treating customers with respect. She said to come back to switch the sandwiches. I could not as it was mid-​day and we drove from Santa Monica once already. Since we don’t eat beef, instead I simply wanted credit for the sandwich they mistakenly made that we could not eat. Because we could not understand why we should be inconvenienced to fix her mistake, we pushed back, which resulted in her accepting fault «I guess I should had repeated your order back to you?» but still no fix. Yes L, that’s a good idea for a restaurant business! Whatever you need to do to get it right! And another idea — treat loyal customers as though you care, even if you don’t.
Problem solved. We’ll go to Morfia’s or Outdoor Grill from now on and for our catering — it’s closer just as good and open when my department is hungry.

I accidentally found this place while riding my bike in the area and totally thought its one of those amazing hole in the wall finds that has some amazing bbq by people who passionately love bbq. I was wrong.
When I finally got a chance to order the food tasted pretty bland and not anything better than a sizzlers meal. You guys got my hopes up for no reason.

Really enjoyed the tri-​tip caesar salad. Lettuce was fresh, creamy dressing was nice, not too thick or too garlicky. Lots of parmesan, croutons and a hefty portion of smoky diced meat on top. BBQ sauce and garlic bread on the side. Great $ 8 lunch.

Good BBQ for the Westside. Now good BBQ is all about the sauce. The BBQ sauce is tangy with a little kick. It’s not too sweet or hot. The food is made to order. It’s fresh and hot within 15 minutes. Excellent and friendly service. It is a shame the restaurant is more like a pop up restaurant with limited hours. I would visit more frequently if they had expanded hours after work and on weekends.
I recommend the tri-​tip with french fries.

They are simply the best! Both catering and walk up service ~ nothing beats Santa Maria BBQ. Very helpful and accommodating staff when it comes to party planning. The food is tasty and leaves an impression on you for sure. Have to visit at least once a week. Try scheduling a party once a year with them ~ you’ll love the convenience while your friends love the food. :)

I wish they were open more for non catering events. So good!

As much I missed Santa Maria BBQ in downtown Culver City I decided to look them up yeah they deliver $ 20 min that’s a lot of yummy tri tip they remembered me sent along a mug, they even remembered I was gluten free, and there just on the other side of the rainbow of the Sony lot from my house yippee

I’ve been getting BBQ from Santa Maria since 2006 and I love this place! The staff is super friendly and the food is so good! I can’t get enough of the pork ribs and they have a really great bbq sauce. If you’re looking for a great bbq place in the Culver City/​Palms area Santa Maria is the place to go

Amazing BBQ, best I have had since I have been in LA! We use them for our corporate catering. They have the great customer service, they are fast!

We’ve had them cater two events for us and there is nothing better than SM BBQ. The tri-​tip and chicken are amazing and I think their sauce is the best in LA! Amazing service, always on time and friendly. I cannot recommend them more!

This place is bomb! Come here for lunch during the week. Think the tri-​tip or pulled pork sandwiches are great. They have a regular BBQ sauce you can add if you want or a spicy one that seems quite popular. This little gem on our block smells so great and I look forward to a sandwich when I can.

One of the best places to get catered BBQ your people will be happy.
I love the tri-​tip and if you have can have them cook the meat onsite it will make you cry bcz it is so good.
