I locked my keys in my car and needed someone to come quick since my commute home is so long. I call Paredes and they were very helpful on the phone and said they would be there within 20 – 30 minutes. Someone showed up right on time and I was so surprised because every time I’ve had car trouble the person takes an extra hour to come help me. But they showed up right on time which I so appreciated. They were able to help me within minutes and were so friendly I would definitely call them again if I need any help with my car.

Credit card company sided with me in the end. I proved, without a doubt, that this company scammed and defrauded me for the tune of $ 1500+ dollars. Pedro also called us and left a rather threatening message — one in which I saved and I’m going to upload and post a link to soon so you guys can hear as well.
Do not bring your car here. Do not find yourself in the distressing and awful situation I did. Scammers and liars.

If I could give no stars I would. Pedro has given the worst customer service ever and shady to boot! I’m always nervous to take my car into an auto repair place because I’m worried they are going to quote unfairly or overcharge and this company has done just that. Charging over the agreed amount with no communication, refuses to answer any questions or provide detailed invoices. I wish this was a joke but sadly it’s not. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! You will get taken advantage of — I would NEVER recommend Paredes Auto Repair & Towing Service to anyone.

This is a place to avoid. I’ve heard nothing good about them and would avoid them like the plague.

Not the experience I was expecting at all, really feel like I got hustled by Pedro and this shop. IWhat a waste of time and MONEY. never fixed the problem — had to go somewhere else for a new started. wouldn’t return my calls, and had the nerve to give me attitude about it. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place unless you enjoy being ripped off!

Avoid, these people are Scam artists.
They lied about the work they did on my car, and they over charged for the work that they claimed they did.
The guy who runs this is named Pedro, he refuses to answer my questions and held my car hostage until I paid him an outrageous amount for the repairs he did not do.
I will NEVER bring my car here ever again, and now have to get a lawyer to get back money they never should have been demanded.
Please do not make the same mistakes I did.
I’ve never been treated so disrespectful… In la you need your car, and when you bring it in for a simple repair only to be told after the fact that unless you pay this insane high payment they won’t give you back your car … Well it’s a horrible situation to be in.
There are so many great car repair shops in la… This is just not one of them.

BEWARE — Major con artist /​scammer /​cheater /​liar! Do NOT take your car here!
I brought my car into Paredes Auto around 12÷12÷15 and was told the block was cracked /​needed to be replaced on my 2007 Honda civic. Pedro, the owner, first quoted me $ 4000 for this work but then later said he spoke to Honda and they would do the block replacement for $ 1500 (I should have realized something was wrong right here). Pedro ended up taking my car into the Honda dealership directly and Honda replaced the block and did the full assembly. Once the work was done (¹²⁄₁₉), Pedro said Honda charged him $ 1500 + sales tax for this block assembly work and he was charging me an additional $ 548 for the water pump replacement he did plus misc fees (fluid change, storage fee, etc). I paid Pedro for this service plus work for the water pump replacement for a grand total of $ 2180 on 12÷24÷15.
I found out shortly after that all 2006 — 2009 Honda Civic’s have an extended warranty on their engines blocks if cracked and that my car is covered under this extended warranty. I then decided to call Honda directly and Honda themselves confirmed that my car was brought in to them, Honda completed the block assembly work AS WELL AS replaced the water pump, and they did NOT charge Pedro /​Paredes or me for this service what so ever. Honda provided me with an invoice detailing all work completed by them on the block /​water pump replacement and that there was no charge. I am happy to provide anyone with this invoice as well as my receipts from Paredes to show I was wrongfully charged for this work.
Consumer report notice about the extended warranty:
When I contacted Pedro for my money back he argued that Honda DID do the work but since I «approved the cost, tough luck». I approved a cost he TOLD me Honda was charging for the block assembly and work he SAID he did on the water pump himself (which he didn’t even do) and trusted he was telling me the truth. He refused to provide me proof of invoice from Honda that they charged for this work or proof of receipt that he paid for it on my behalf. Again though, Honda said as a consumer I wasn’t and shouldn’t have been charged for the work at all as it was completely covered under the extended warranty.
In Summary:
I’m being defrauded by this independent car mechanic in that he hoped I wouldn’t become aware of the extended warranty information and he charged me for work that he DID NOT complete that Honda themselves confirmed they completed and didn’t charge for.
I’ve spent hours on the phone with Honda and my CC company, driving all over LA for invoices and arguing with this guy. I have started a case /​claim with Honda as well as a billing dispute with my credit card company. I’m reporting this to the BBB and ripoff report as well as considering suing them just for the principle of the thing. Merry xmas, you liars! Thanks for making my holiday a stressful one.
Again I have copies of my receipt and detailed invoice from Paredes and the detailed invoice from Honda of work they completed that shows no charge. If the independent mechanic himself had completed this work, normally I’d file a reimbursement claim with Honda. But since Honda completed the work and didn’t charge, I shouldn’t have had to pay Paredes for work he didn’t do. He’s basically charging me $ 2180 for driving my car to Honda and back!

I had a Mercedes Benz E320 serviced by them in 2005.

My car wouldnt start in the morning. I called around and everyone quoted me something crazy and they wanted the money in cash. Well guess what? its early in the morning and I’m running late for work, I have no time to walk up to an ATM and grab cash. Lucky for me I found Paredes Auto Repair and Towing, the guy was super helpful quoted me something reasonable and accepted debit. Pedro showed up in like 20 mins and had my car running in less than that. He even made sure to turn my car off and back and just to make sure my car would start. Overall great service!

My car wouldn’t start and I needed it towed to my mechanic in Mid-​City. Gave these guys a call and they said they could do it for about $ 140…it ended up being $ 152 for the extra miles. I’m from the San Joaquin Valley so anything over $ 60 is expensive to me but with my tow experience for LA the price is descent. They took about 40min to get to me which was a little frustrating as I was already in Culver City. But the guy who towed my car was very friendly. Gave me his card and said he hoped I didn’t have anymore problems with my car. Overall good experience on an otherwise really crappy afternoon.

My car window was shattered into two nights before Thanksgiving. I was able to call Wednesday morning, get a quote, drop it off that morning and the front passenger window and back panel window were replaced by early Friday afternoon! I have a 2003 Mini Cooper, so this involved finding very specific window parts.
Fantastic turnaround, what seemed like reasonable prices to me, and great customer service. I was incredibly happy not to have to drive 5 hours with a broken window and I have them to thank!
