History
Established in 2009.
Midas Mount Camera Support Systems began when director Brandon David Cole bought the Canon 7D to shoot BMX documentaries and asked his neighbor Harry Gramig to build him a shoulder support. Friends borrowed and bought the early shoulder rig prototypes and a slider kit soon followed. Filmmaker Taylor Randall bought one of the sliders from a Craigslist ad and brought it along on a camera rental checkout at EVS in Glendale. The guys at EVS loved the slider and called Cole to order several of them. A business was born by indie filmmakers, for indie filmmakers.
All Midas Mount products are assembled in Culver City, California using parts that were made by Los Angeles craftspeople. We are proud to offer you a product that is 100% American made and hope you are equally proud to own one.
