History

Established in 1988.

JLF Appraisal Services is an appraiser broker. We find the appropriate accredited appraiser (s) who can meet our clients needs. Over time we evolved into a one-​stop appraisal venue, so our clients can find their appraisal needs with one phone call or an email. On numerous occasions, we have assembled teams of appraisers for a multitude of appraisals: Personal Property, Collectibles, Business Valuation, Western Art, Asian Art and Real Estate or any combination thereof. With the baby boomers approaching retirement, we have expanded our capabilities to assist our clients in the disposal of property. In recent years, JLF Appraisal Services has worked with litigation lawyers. The vast majority of our appraisals have been completed in Southern California, from Santa Barbara to the Mexican border. Meet the Business Owner

Joel F.

Business Owner

Joel has a Bachelors of Arts degre in Mathematics, a Masters of Science degree in Computer Science and a Masters of Science degree in Valuation Science. He has published numismatic articles extensively in Coin World. For 45 semesters he taught Computer Science at a local community college. Prior to becoming an appraiser, he spent 31 years in aerospace and military systems as a software engineer. During this time, he was active in the IEEE, participating in the development of software standards.
