Wow thank goodness I found this place online, I live over 2 hours away but drove here because of their prices and customer service

Transparent fair prices, wide selection, and a customer focus — What more is there?
Having always been one to do my homework on purchases like this I visited with three stores in the Los Angeles/​Culver City area to determine which safe I would buy. What attracted me to Dean Safe was their transparency in pricing. I was able to search Google/​Yahoo for model numbers of safes I liked and make a true apples to apples comparison unlike one of their competitors I visited. On like units I found Dean to be more competitive, responsive with concerns, and willing to educate me on the options available.
Basic Customer Service Rules:
1) Empower the customer — CHECK
2) Make them feel like they got a good deal — CHECK
3) Deliver on your promises to the customer — CHECK
Dean Safe has this in spades.
Jacque was super helpful, I was in and out of the store within 30 minutes and got my product on time.

Went to Dean’s as a friend had purchased a safe and raved about their service. I have to say, Wow, what great customer service. Dean’s had a minor mishap on my order, and they couldn’t have gone out of their way more to accommodate me. They are awesome. I did a lot of research and looking around prior to my purchase. They had confirmed all of the research I had done on my own, and were extremely consultative on my needs. These people are the experts. I Could never go anywhere else. Delivery was awesome.

I went to Dean’s to explore the different safe companies they represented (Liberty, Fort Knox, Etc.) Jackie greeted me at the front door and was very helpful in explaining the differences in models. She never made me feel rushed, or forced a sale on me. Jackie knew I was renting and that purchasing a larger model safe might pose a risk for me with the limited space I have.
In closing, I bought a nice hand gun safe and I am satisfied. I will be back next year to buy a bigger safe after I purchase a home.

Where to start??? This experience has been awful. I DO NOT recommend you even start to consider Dean’s for a residential purchase.
Let’s get started with the purchase process. I went into the storefront and met Jackie, who was frazzled as there were a couple of customers in the store. I patiently waited while she helped them and answered the phones. Finally, when we connected, getting a recommendation was impossible. She was so non-​committal on brands and features it wasn’t helpful. I went home and researched, went back to the store and looked a couple of times (getting no additional guidance/​advice), and finally made up my mind to buy an Amsec safe. The day before I went in to buy, I checked the Fort Knox website and found they were running a killer Memorial Day sale which basically gave $ 1000 in free upgrades. I went in the store to «ink the deal,» and again, in traditional fashion waited. When I spoke to Jackie, she had no clue about the deal. We spent a long time researching, trying to call Fort Knox, etc. Finally, she took a printout of the website and wrote the deal up. I paid in full thinking I was being a good customer and helping a local business with cash flow.
I waited and waited finally, 9 weeks later my safe is built and scheduled for delivery at the end of week 11. Delivery day arrives and it is to take place between 1 and 3. I got a call the day prior confirming this. I was at the gym at 1130 and got a call from the delivery guys. They wanted to come then. I told them I’d hurry back and they said they’d be there around 1215 – 1230. I raced home and they arrived at 1245. The first guy, Jose, was very nice and calm. I showed him where I wanted the safe and he expressed concern, but was cool about it. His partner came in and clearly didn’t want to be working. He had a terrible attitude about the delivery and I could tell then he didn’t want to do it.
Now, some background… I was never asked to measure the doorways nor given dimensions for the delivery. I had measured the space and compared to the dimensions online, but didn’t even consider the doorways. They were to bring the safe in through the garage into a first floor interior room. The door with the frame was 1″ too narrow. Likewise, the door to the internal room was similarly too narrow.
In the process of the delivery, they were measuring everything. Delivery driver 2 needed to take the safe off the truck to measure it and threatened with leaving it in my garage if it was too big. Jose remained cool the whole time and said to the effect of «this is just part of the job.» They got the safe in, opened it, and it was 1″ too big to fit through the doorways. Driver 2 wanted to leave the safe in the garage and I told him no way and to box it back up and take it away. They did, and now I am again safe-​less.
I called Dean’s and the manager Bo is gone for the day. Jackie the sales person is out today for the long weekend. Of course they are closed Labor Day, Monday. The owner is supposedly in all day meetings so there is absolutely no one to speak to about my experience or next steps.
Ultimately, my opinion is that this company is oriented around commercial customers. I’m super disappointed in my experience and just want the safe at this point… If you’re a residential customer, I recommend you look elsewhere.

I came in on 4÷16÷2015 to be greeted by Moses. Moses was very accommodating to show me various safes on their show room. I was initially interested in a American Security safe however due to Moses’s knowledge, I was offered an improved safe for the same cost.
My delivery date was within six day of purchasing the safe. The safe was delivered by Nacho, an absolute professional. Nacho was immensely considerate of the flooring and walls and very respectful of the home.
Overall, I had a stress-​free and pleasurable experience with Dean Safe!

AMAZING EXPERIENCE START TO FINISH! Jacque (pronounced Jackie) is a consummate professional, has been in the safe business for years and actually used to work for one of the safe manufacturers. She knows EVERYTHING about safes! We weren’t interested in working with a company that makes keys AND installs locks AND AND AND… we wanted to work with a company that specialized in SAFES and Dean Safe exceeded our expectations!
We also loved that they have the actual safes in the showroom so you can see them before they’re delivered. Moses is Jacque’s right hand and is also amazing and has a great disposition. There’s no hard sell-​actually no sell/​buy pressure at all. They just answer your questions and show you safes that match your requirements. No scare tactics or any other shenanigans. They delivered the safe pretty quickly and the delivery team (Ronnie and Ignacio) were absolute professionals. They protected our hardwood floors and walls and were very respectful of our home. I would recommend them to friends and will use Dean Safe again. Don’t fool around with amateurs or companies who sell donuts AND chinese food AND safes. Thank you Jacque, Moses, Ronnie and Ignacio-​Dean Safe!!!

The best service and source of information and sales for «safekeeping.» Pretty good locksmiths too.

I wasted half a day of driving around until finding this place, which unlike most «safe stores», actually has the safes right there. (Apparently most places are really just locksmiths who have to order safes online for you.) But I wanted to compare them in person first.
I just needed a home safe for my office records, but they seemed to have all kinds, small to huge.
The woman who waited on me was friendly and seemed knowledgeable.

I stopped by for a part I needed. They did not have it but they were nice. It looks like an excellent selection of safes at fair prices.

What a great experience! Right off the highway, I didn’t get lost (for once!), and friendly folks! Jacqueline was so helpful and knowledgeable in their products– I needed some serious help. Great options to choose from– Nice to have a place I can recommend. So happy to have found this place! … I wonder if they would consider serving beer. That would get them 6 stars!
