History

Established in 1989.

Barneys of New York in Beverly Hills used to have two very large aquariums and Harold Weiner used to be the sole maintenance provider for those aquariums. With love, care and experience, Harold took care of these two amazing fish aquariums for 9 years. He and his team have been servicing the Los Angeles area with expert aquarium services for over 25 years. We also service the South Bay area, San Fernando Valley, Pasadena area, Long Beach and San Gabriel Valley.

Harold and his man Anthony completely overhauled our 380 gallon tank. Gave it a whole new look and more importantly created a healthy environment for the fish where previously we’d suffered a lot of tank turnover. But now the tank looks awesome and the kids spend a lot of time with it.

I’d been battling my koi pond for many years before I finally hired Harold. What was once a constant headache (and occasional heartache– RIP so many fishies) has become a complete joy. He set me up with the right equipment and sourced some beautiful koi for me, and now he takes care of everything as if it were his own. His once a month visits are enough to make my pond gorgeous all year round. Its also great to know I have someone a phone call away should I have an emergency. Harold even keeps me stocked with fish food and brings plants. He texts me regularly to follow up on issues, or just to check in with a «Hows the fish?». They are great Harold, thanks to you buddy.

Harold has been really generous with his time and knowledge in refitting our 50 gallon tank which had been neglected and needed a major overhaul. He’s incredibly thorough about all aspects of aquarium life, and honest about what he knows (a lot) and doesn’t know first hand. (What we are doing in our tank with live plants and live births is not the norm). When I had questions about the new fish he’s responded immediately at all kinds of hours, and really takes the lives and health of these creatures quite seriously, as we all should.

AMAZING!
Harold has done excellent work refurbishing and setting up our 300 gallon tank. the fish that he finds are beautiful! We have our aquarium at a preschool and children and parents alike will comment on how beautiful it is.
The best part is that no one can tell that it’s not a salt water tank!

While i wont disagree that Harold knows aquariums, i will say that he came off in an extremely rude manner when he came to see my tank.
While my initial introduction started off well, Harold came at my tank like a bat out of hell. He criticized every aspect of my tank, told me it was a horrible looking reef (its not the best reef) but you dont tell the customer to their face that their tank and who ever was in charge of it last, «looks like sin», he must have said that statement about 3 –4 times that it was «ugly as sin» referring to my powerheads that i had in the tank, etc.
To be honest, I was quite appalled by his professionalism. He continued to lecture me about how established his business is and he doesnt need me as a client that he is certain another company or competitor will gladly service my tank.
His attitude was not to help me service the tank, it was pay me $ 85/​hr to do it my way, or f* your face. literally.
this old timer needs to step back and check his professionalism, i dont care how well you do tanks you don’t make the customer feel horrible about their tank. PERIOD.

Harold is a fish freak. & I mean that in the nicest way possible.
I called aquatech based on the number of positive Unilocal reviews when I decided to convert my fish tank from salt to freshwater. Harold came over for an initial assessment and from the very first meeting I could tell Harold really enjoys his work. I love my new fish tank! It is colorful and eye catching, just like I wanted. I also really loved that Harold focuses on care of the fish, like their eating and sleeping patterns, too often we forget that fish are pets and not display items. When I had questions about my fish, Harold responded promptly and efficiently even though I’m sure it was after business hours. He really stands by his work and I am grateful for my new fish friend.

Harold has been taking care of our 150 gallon fresh water home aquarium now for almost a year. He keeps a good schedule of our monthly maintenance needs and has always been right on time. He’s very knowledgeable on all types of fish and has helped us add many really cool colorful fish to our tank. Harold and Aquatech were great!
Harold is extremely knowledgable and caring about his work. He is like a fish whisperer. He is professional and stands by his work. When he put our aquarium together, he did so with great care, taking into account the best type of fish for our needs, and was efficient and serious about the job. He helped me come up with a design motif that looks amazing, and the fish he chose are lovely and easy to care for. We chose a fresh water tank. He even came by 2 days after he completed the job so he could assure that the fish were assimilating well.

This is my first time using Harold and so far I’m loving his work. He’s incredibly knowledgable about Aquariums, ALL types of fish & the proper way to keep an aquarium up and running. Harold did an amazing job transforming the 250 gallon freshwater aquarium in our office space. If you don’t believe me, just let the before and after photos convince you. He is extremely reliable and punctual… rare in Los Angeles! When people come to our office, they are surprised at how colorful the fish are and often think that it’s a saltwater aquarium. Though it was a lot of work to renovate this aquarium, we all agree that it was well worth it. The aquarium looks like a piece of living art and really elevates the ambiance — previously it was considered a detriment to our environment. I have worked with Harold and Aquatech for about 15 years now. I have graduated from a small tank to a 30 gallon, and it is always beautiful and creative looking. Harold is always very concerned with teh health of the fish and will teach you how to care for the tank inbetween his visits. Harold comes to my office and home and takes complete care of our beautiful fish tanks. He comes once a month and does a fabulous job. He brings food for our fish, designs and maintains the look and feel of the tanks. And periodically he brings me new fish that complement the tank and create no aggressive problems with the other fish.
Our tanks are a showcase, they are lovely and they increase the value of both spaces. My clients never fail to stand in front of the tanks and marvel. Harold has great taste and a very comprehensive background in his field. And he is super responsive.
