Koon’s Automotive of Culpeper

After work, I walked quite a distance in the heat to claim the official winning ticket I received in the mail. Once I got there, folks with their «winning» tickets were seated with a salesman to basically tell them they didn’t win anything, proceeding to take their information, run a credit check, and talking them into buying a car from their lot. I was tired, hot, hungry, and agitated that there was no winning tickets and this was all a waste of my time. At this local dealership, Two salesmen from out of state were down my throat pressuring me to buy a vehicle. Because of their shady sales tactics and pressure, I will never consider buying anything from them. If someone spends an hour walking to work, it’s no laughing matter to send them the official winning ticket for a vehicle.

Husband & I visited this used-​car spur of the Koon’s dealerships early this morning before they were open, as we are in the market for both a «new» used pickup, as well as a «new» used SUV. As we’ve visited other dealers in the area, were both stymied & surprised to see that NONE of the vehicles at this dealer had prices listed. Sorry — but this sort of thing already sends red flags to me.
That notwithstanding, later on today I phoned the dealership & requested pricing on two vehicles. Talk about a runaround! Was informed by the saleswoman I was transferred to that they «can’t give out prices on the vehicles over the phone». You have to «come in», because all of the used vehicles are for sale via «bank foreclosures», & thus they have to contact/​negotiate with the bank to be able to give out a price. I told her — «okay, we’ll be paying in cash» (which we will be). But again, she couldn’t/wouldn’t give me prices. What the h*ll difference does it make if I’m on the phone or sitting there in person — unless, of course, in person they think I might be more easily subject to sales pressure perhaps?
Sorry Koon’s, but that’s horse sh*t. I didn’t just fall off of a turnip truck somewhere. We’ll be buying our vehicles from another Culpeper dealer who doesn’t have a problem with pricing upfront.
