This place is so awesome and I hope many more people go to this place just like my brother

This is my second semester here and overall I do enjoy the university. This a great school, especially fir those who enjoy the outdoors. There are plenty of programs and activities that students can enjoy, such as water rafting, hiking, biking, climbing, and nature observing. There also a great number of sports that one can play intramuraly such as, flag football, indoor and outdoor soccer, basketball, dodgeball, and other non officials games such as humans vs. Zombies.
Overall the entire staff is very friendly. This goes to to the professors, cafeteria staff, the drivers, and the janitorial staff.
The school offers a wide variety of classes and degree programs that you can pick, with helpful advisory to show you the path of graduation.
So far I am very satisfied with everything the school has to offer.
Btw if you want to be surrounded by a large city this is not the place for you.

I went to Western from out of state, and it was 3 of the best years of my life so far. This review would honestly be too long if I went into detail, but it’s affordable — less expensive than most in-​state Indiana schools’ tuition including a private school in my hometown. It has small, intimate class sizes and the professors are all knowledgeable and familiar with being in front of a classroom. No graduate students teach, ever. You get the education you pay for.
Student life is incredible. Lots of dining options, and everything is within walking distance. I was a blessed Honors College student so I lived in the best and newest residence halls on campus all 3 years, and I can’t speak for everyone. But I had an amazing residential experience. Parking sometimes stinks when you have to walk a long way in the rain/​cold, but if you live on campus, none of the walks are bad.
The location is, also, incredible. So much whitewater rafting, skiing, hiking, rockclimbing, waterfall viewing, and other outdoor activities to take advantage of so close to campus. BaseCamp Cullowhee will help you do whatever you dreamed of in that department. I went hang-​gliding with them in my second year. One of the best decisions I ever made.
Campus is beautiful. The faculty & staff are full steam ahead, always looking forward and planning ways to make the school better. Each of the three years I was there, there were a dozen epic new things happening and it continues to be that way when I visit as an alumna. So proud to be a Catamount. Hail to the dearest spot of all, hail to WCU!

Like Roger H – I’m a bit biased, but I am really happy to be affiliated with this place. The faculty are committed, the students are terrific, and the surroundings can’t be beat. If you need to be in a place where there’s a Target and a Best Buy around the corner, WCU’s not for you, but if you want an excellent education at a great price in the prettiest place in the Southeast, you should check out WCU.
If you’re a tourist, be sure to check out the Fine and Performing Arts Center, the Mountain Heritage Center, or watch some Catamount athletics.

I work here so I am biased. Happy to be a Catamount. GREAT faculty, great teaching, small classes, and a liberal arts education at in-​state prices. Gorgeous campus setting. Cullowhee is gorgeous. Tons of outdoor activity like biking, hiking, the Tuck River for fishing. Awaiting more college town like businesses, but some really great stalwarts like the Mad Batter, El Torito (its as authentic as it gets!), and much much more.
