Berkeley Bob’s Coffee House & The Whole Earth Store

Aweozme local coffee joint! Wifi worked well and was able to get all of my work done. I came on the night when there was «open mic». It was interesting to say the least! Most of the performances were decent. A few were good, but most were «open mic» quality and I loved it! Great people and AWESOME coffee!

Great little place for coffee. I was looking for a Sbucks alternative and dropped in just before lunch. Guy playing music and singing at noon on a Thursday? Pretty cool. Good hot coffee and a bagel. Nice atmosphere too.

It’s all about context. Keep in mind you are in Cullman, AL and you are looking for a coffee, sandwich, snack, a place with wi-​fi, a place to chill. You’re heading for Berkley Bob’s Coffee House. The fact that it was once voted the best coffee house in Alabama is likely more a statement about Alabama rather than this coffee house. In the context of Cullman (and perhaps Alabama) it is a 5 star great place to hang. The coffee is great, the food was good, the people friendly and we liked it just fine.

My friend brought me to Berkeley Bob’s, it’s her favorite and I can see why. It’s a taste of The Bay (my home) in the the middle of the South. So refreshing to step foot in this café and know that you can relax and drink some good coffee. The employees really know their stuff and are very friendly. If I am ever back in Cullman, I will be looking forward to returning to Berkeley Bob’s.

Atmosphere and service doesn’t get any better than it is at Berkely Bob’s. Coffee and sandwiches are outstanding and the people are so friendly. Furthermore, live entertainment in the evenings? Great touch! I won’t ever pass through Cullman without stopping here.

This place is a must stop on way home from Huntsville. Bring cash.

I rarely do this, but I want to highly recommend Berkeley Bob’s Coffee House in Cullman to all my friends. Recently voted the best coffee house in Alabama, and one of the top live music venues in the state, they have great atmosphere, food, coffee and tea drinks. Plus the ownership and staff are some of the nicest folks you will meet ! You get the vibe of a 1960’s coffee house where you can hear an eclectic variety of great musicians play. Everything from Folk, Bluegrass, Celtic, Jazz, Blues and more. We discovered this place several years ago and absolutely love it. Hey, call us and we will go with you…

In the spirit of say-​something-​nice: «Berkeley Bob’s» is clean. And their coffee is ok.
I’m painfully familiar with the type of coffee shop they are trying to emulate. There wasn’t a single dread-​locked lesbian in a tank top to serve me my coffee, nor was there anyone passed out at a corner table. There was no bulletin board packed full of lost-​dog/​cat, Food-​Not-​Bombs, and used car fliers. And there was no stink of coffee being roasted or brewed.
In short, I would say that Berkeley Bob’s falls short of what they hope to achieve. Unless, of course, what they want to achieve is just a coffee shop with some funky curios placed with some form of precision, in which case they did it well.
