Always fun and a place I stop whenever I pass through Crystal River

When passing by, one might be turned away by Mickey’s with its rough and tough biker bar first impression, but doing so is a major mistake. In the realm of dive bars, Mickey’s reigns supreme. This is a smoking bar, so be prepared for that. You will leave with the smell of a thousand cigarettes on your clothes. Being regulars at places like Dagwood’s in Tampa, this is not a problem for La Chica and myself. The clientele and staff here are extremely«small town» friendly. This was our first time in the door, and folks made us feel right at home. The beer selection was pretty standard, with only a few craft offerings, but this is a Bud Light crowd. With great live music being provided by Dell and Brian, lively games of billiards, and friendly conversations all happening, any cold beer would be just fine. It was the first time in the past 5 years that I literally witnessed no one playing with their smart phones. I am pretty sure I was the only one, and that is because I was snapping pics for Unilocal. On Fridays and Saturdays they close up between 1 and 2, and the kitchen shuts down between 11 and midnight. During your next visit to Crystal River, I highly recommend stopping by the friendly confines of the Harley-Davidson orange walls at Mickey’s.
