Platt Windows and Doors

We had one large window replaced and it is installed, looks nice and the price was the lowest around. But he damaged our stone ledge just outside the window, a bit of the siding outside and there are many dings on the wood on the inside. It took much longer than initially stated to get the window ordered and in. By the time he said he would be installing he called to let us know he was going to come and remeasure. We couldn’t believe he hadn’t ordered it yet! He installed it by himself and it took all day. I am sure it was really a two person job. There was lots of banging that shook the house over may hours. I believe he mismeasured and I fear what damage he did making that window fit. I can not recommend this company. We have more windows to replace and will spend more for the peace of mind that it will be done right.

Worst experience ever! We ordered a piece of glass to replace a broken one and it took over 6 weeks! I finally called to see where the glass was and was told it got returned while they were on vacation. Mind you I was told it be replaced prior to their vacation. I was also told I would be contacted the following week; well, one week went by and no word still. So I called again asking where our glass was, and I was told, «Well, we’re really busy. I guess we can get you in this week.» He did arrive at scheduled time but did not clean up the broken glass which, when he gave me my quote he told me he would do. It took over 6 weeks and I had to beg for it to be installed. I might as well have gotten a new one from Home Depot. They’re nice people, but the service was horrible!

I wish I would have read the previous reviews before patronizing this store because I had a similar negative experience. To avoid this getting too lengthy, I’ll just give the main points. The work I had done was a large window replacement.
Pros
–The price was fair and competitive
–The installer was very friendly and polite
Cons
–The owner was a no show for measurement appointment after we took off work to be there.
–Agreed to take off $ 40 for the inconvenience but later refused to so do and even denied being a no show.
–Sent one installer who was 30 min late for a 2 person job. The weight of the large window caused the installer to drop the old window inside the house resulting in broken glass all over the floor. The installer called in for help, causing more delay for the arrival of the owner.
–The final bill did not include the previously offered «no show discount». The owner became hostile and rude when reminded of the commitment and refused to honor it.

I brought in one screen to be replaced and was told exactly $ 60, and it turned out to be $ 75. The screen already fell apart two weeks later
