Animal Medical Center Of Crystal Lake

I have taken my dog there twice. She had a parasite and she is almost a year old. It was my first time there and my first impression walking in the door was that nobody seemed to help me. I didn’t know where to sign in or weigh my dog. A lady at the front desk rudely told me to sit and wait for my turn. The doctor was very nice and helpful tho! I went back for a recheck that her giardia was gone and had the same experience. Today I called them on the phone because I had sent a claim to my insurance for my dog 2 months ago when I took her for the giardia. The insurance company sent a request to them asking for the medical records on May 15. On May 27 they called again asking for the records. It is now June 25 and they insurance has still heard nothing so I called the vet. The lady that answered, Sandy, told me that they had sent the records already so I asked what fax number she sent them to. Turns out it was he wrong number. So I gave her the right one and she told me… «THAT ISNT THE NUMBER YOU ORIGINALLY GAVE ME» I proceeded to say I had not spoke to them about medical records I had only given them a medical release form upon my first visit. She says «well the fax number on the form is the one I sent it to.» I didn’t even know what to say. Never a «I’m so sorry for this confusion» or «I will get that sent to the right number as soon as possible» I have only experienced rude service from the front desk and always feel that I am a burden to them when I call/​go in. I will not be returning to this vet. Very very unhappy with the service.

The doctors here are great if you can get past the rudeness of the front desk. We’ve been taking our dog here for about 6 months and today will be my last visit. Every time we’re there the front desk staff has been rude and short. Even at our first visit, they were less than helpful barking out orders because we weren’t familiar with their policies. Once, Twice… third time… you’re out. Today we’re switching to a place that appreciates our business. It’s very upsetting as the care our guy got there when we were actually in the room was great, but I will not be treated so terribly again.

Dr Peggy Chamberlain is by far the most outstanding vet I have ever encountered and reasonable as well, She knows cats and dogs equally well and knows many breed specifics.
She has performed miracles for me and I highly recommend her and have referred many clinets to her who will drive an hour to see her.
Dr Pegyy also can do many difficult surgeries that many vets would immediately send you to a specialist for for thousands of dollars.
She is top notch and I would be lost without her!
