Biltmore Tahoe Lodge & Casino

I had a reservation to stay at the Motel Crystal Bay across the street from the Biltmore Casino Hotel, due to the fact that the casino rooms were sold out. It was explained to me over the phone that this motel across the street from the casino was co-​owned by the Biltmore and that these rooms were approximately $ 20 cheaper on the average than the rooms inside the casino.
When I made my reservation it was the last room that the Biltmore had available for the one night that I had requested. Once I checked in to this motel room, it was not clean and the appearance was very dated and mediocre at best. The bathroom had a very small shower and still had the previous guests’ used washcloth still hanging over the shower curtain rod, where they had left it after they showered. After taking several pics with my cell phone of this condition, I called the casino front desk and complained. They told me that were completely sold out of rooms and that they would either discount my room my $ 20 or give me a full refund if I wanted to look elsewhere. I told them that these options were inexcusable and that they needed to accommodate me in a more satisfactorily way.
Finally after several calls and a conversation with their manager, I was able to somehow secure a room at the casino for the same rate as across the street, since I was so inconvenienced.
This room, albeit was nicer, recently remodeled and inside the casino property, it was still loud with a bunch of drunks walking/​running up and down the halls at all hours of the night and the walls were very thin between each of the rooms.
In the future I will probably spend a little more $$ and stay at a nicer establishment when staying in north shore Tahoe. It really is true that you «get what you pay for» around here!

Not worth it. There’s no other way to put it. This place is grossly mis-​managed on every level. From the top down to middle management. No one is doing their job and it shows. I would be surprised if this place was open in a year from now.
The building and grounds are old, which is ok but they are also unkempt, dirty and in disrepair.
The $ 100 best available hotel room I «stayed» in was clean ish. There was some sort of soda or something sprayed all over the back of the door. A dead bug smashed in between the glass and picture on a wall picture, im not even sure how that happens. Huge burn marks in the rug, and toilet seat, again, not sure how that happens. If I had pulled over in the middle of nowhere and spent $ 29 at a side of the road motel this is the room I would have expected. Old and shitty. Updated in the 90s but still managing to retain the original toilet, sink and heaters. The heat was a particular sore point as there was no way to completely stop the flow of hot air into the room. Which is unacceptable. The rest of the hotel and casino was equally in disrepair. It is possible to take a «classic» building and make it look cared for. This building is obviously not cared for.
Staff. Obviously upset that their less than stellar life decisions have led them to working here. When you have been fired from every car wash and whore house in town, you go work at the Biltmore. With a facility this down and out a staff that makes the stay pleasant would be a big life savor. Like «hey we know this place is just a step up from a kick in the balls but at least we are friendly and accommodating!» Nope. I know this is not the staffs fault but I’ve never heard the word «NO» more times in my life. Telling people no they can’t comp that, no you can’t smoke here (in the nightclub during the show, which hadn’t started yet) etc.
Casino. If you can call it that. It’s Friday and the craps table doesn’t open until 6pm? Sitting at the bar and the game king won’t take my bills… Holy shit I’m literally here trying to give you money and you don’t want it?
Food. Thank god I didn’t eat anything here or I probably wouldn’t be well enough to write this review. There was a bbq and brew looking restaurant that looked nice from the outside looking in, except for the glaring fact that it was DEAD empty at dinner time on a Friday night. That right there tells you something.
I spent about 30 minutes sitting at the bar with crushing anxiety about having to return to my interment camp like room before I decided to contact another establishment near by. They happily told me their inside opinions and general consensus about the Biltmore. And it is the same impression I got. This place is owned and managed by incompetent idiots. That is the only explanation for what is going on here. You could piece together a hotel casino out of Pinterest ideas and an intro class in business management and absolutely put this place out of business.
I ended up booking another room elsewhere and leaving this one empty for the night. I didn’t feel like arguing with the staff over my hundred bux. I sincerely doubt they would let go of a single penny anyways, seeing how bad they clearly need the money.

This is an old fashioned hotel in northwest Lake Tahoe. It is good to stay here if going to Northstar or Squaw Valley. It is cheap. It is also not the nicest place you will have ever stayed at. We stayed in the cottages. There were two queen beds. The whole place could be updated and apparently they keep saying they will renovate, but they don’t. The Café Biltmore in the hotel was fine. I got a chicken breast sandwich and it was good. I watched someone I met on the trip play blackjack in the casino and he had fun for 2 hours. There’s one hot tub and it’s small, but try it out perhaps. If you want to crash on a ski trip for cheap, try this hotel.

You’re lucky if you get hot water in the showers here, and the walls and floors are so thin you can hear everything in the rooms around you. Cleanliness isn’t something they care about as there was someone else’s hair in the shower when we got here, and our toilet was broken so we had to manually flush our toilet inside the tank as our handle was broken. Also. Plan on checking I’m at least an hour before you want to be in your room since they have no heat in them when it’s unoccupied so you need to blast the heater for ages for it to be even sort of comfortable. There’s no coffee maker and only one cup in a double queen room. Very disappointed with my stay here, if there was a cheaper option anywhere around town I’d stay there instead.
BUT the café is excellent. The staff is super friendly, in particular we had a great experience with a woman named Nikki last night who was fantastic. The food is good and it’s reasonably priced. So that alone bumped up my not so happy stay into a 2 star experience. If I was going off the food alone I’d give 4 stars, if going off the service I got when eating I’d give a full 5 stars.
Sadly that’s not enough to make up for my cold, dirty, loud room with holes in the wall.

Hotel is fine but does not include some of the things you come to expect in a hotel room: there’s no tea /​coffee maker or even plastic cups in the room. It would be smarter to stay somewhere cheaper.

We wanted to schedule our Feb 2016 wedding at Tahoe Biltmore. I talked with event coordinator Brad Perry through email and on the phone and we made an appointment to tour the lodge and discuss pricing and reservations today (Sunday September 20^th) at 2pm. My fiancé, parents and I drove 4 and a half hours from Chico Ca to only have Brad not show up to the appointment. Multiple employees tried to call him, but he never answered his phone. He wasted out whole day and ruined the experience of finding a venue for our big day. Thanks to Brad Perry, Tahoe Biltmore has lost a customer.

Terrible. Dirty glasses. Drinks are like what is this. Don’t waste your money, I already did for the both of us.

This is a small casino in an old hotel. We both put $ 20 in two slot machines and after a while tried to cash out — i had won $ 15 and my friend won almost $ 5. so there was not quite $ 60 to take home. their computer system shut down for the payouts. of course the machines worked fine up to point where you wanted your money. they finally sent someone over to check the total payouts after 20 minutes. we waited a total of 55 minutes to collect our money. the fellow tasked to give us our $$ was very apologetic but good grief. what took so long? and on our way out, one of the locals said this happens quite frequently.

I went here with some friends for breakfast. The place was pretty dead. It was a Tuesday morning though so I didn’t expect it to be crowded. The breakfast was delicious. I had eggs Benedict and hash browns. The English muffin was a little burnt but I ate it anyway. It was pretty good for only $ 5. After breakfast we sat at the bar and played video poker and had mimosas for about 30mins before we had to take off. It wasn’t a fancy place but I liked. I don’t have any complaints.

Zero stars would be better. This place is s dump and they will try and scam u for a cleaning fee

Not a 5 star hotel, but they do have decent comps. I usually get free play & free room offers throughout the year. I don’t spend much, maybe $ 200 a weekend visit. It’s usually quiet in the casino after 8pm and like a ghost town after 12am. If you like to gamble alone without distractions like I do, this is the place for you.
I rate their comps about 4 stars and rooms 3 stars.
I did notice that renovations are taking place on the outside cottages. Perhaps they will continue will all of them and the hotel as well. I know this is only a 3 star review, but I come back often.

I was driving by and needed a restroom. I knew exactly where it would be as I have been here many times throughout the years.
Parking was easy. The restroom wasn’t very clean or well maintained but it was easily accesible from the main entrance.
The fireplace and bear statues in the lobby added a few extra minutes to our quick stop with a few funny photo op’s.
I would not stay here, as this place is well past its heyday, but appreciated the convenience of the restroom stop!

I love this place because it isn’t another cheesy chain hotel. The whole place has a real sense of history. A large group of us stay here once a year for an annual road rally and it suits our needs well. In fact, I’ve never heard a complaint. Rooms are clean, staff is friendly, and the price is reasonable. See you again next year Biltmore!

The most unfriendly dealers ever. Will not receive any money from us ever again. Plus the wheel of fortune slots area was about 200 degrees. I told the cashier they might want to cool it off a little and he was rude and abnoxious.
CBC across the street is hands down a better and fun place to play !

A solid three star review of a three star hotel. The Tahoe Biltmore is a throw back to the 50 and 60s style luxury hotel including the in room heater. We had a great view of the surrounding mountains from the deco window. The cabins have a privacy quality but can be noisy when neighbors are going in and out. Tube TV with good channel choices, in room phone and hair dryer. Amenities pretty much ended there, no microwave or fridge. The casino has the throw back charm as well. For the price I wasn’t expecting much. I wasn’t disappointed. The hot tub was hot and most of the Jets worked, surprising for its age. The rooms were generally clean. The beds ok not great. The only real negative comment I would have was the booger on the wall over the bed. But hey its a three star hotel!

I encountered a baby bear when I stayed at the Biltmore. Yes, there’s a statue of a bear in the lobby, but this was a REAL bear wandering around in the back of the property near the parking lot. Of course, the first thing I did was reach for my phone to take a picture and you can see the blurry one I took before Boo Boo ran into the woods behind the «lodges.» That was the most exciting part of my stay.
I was here for one night on my part-​time boss’ dime, so this hotel was not my choice. I knew from the other Unilocal reviews that it wasn’t like the Biltmore resort in Phoenix or the elegant Biltmore in Los Angeles. No, this was on the other end of that spectrum altogether. I stayed in a cottage that had two queen beds, a bathroom with a shower and tub, and a fan to supplement the poorly circulating air conditioner. Established in 1946 according to its website, this place has been around a while and it felt like it. The floorboards creaked when I walked around my room and there was no headboard on my bed, so I just leaned my head on the wall when I was reading. The room temp was difficult to regulate since I never found a thermostat, so I didn’t sleep well.
The plus side is that the ladies at the front desk were very friendly and the place was clean. This is definitely a budget-​friendly place and not a bad option to lay your head for the night if you’re in town mainly to enjoy the outdoor activites of Lake Tahoe. You may also get an up close and personal visit from a bear.

I’m not one to write review but people need to know how bad it is. We won 2 night stay to this hotel in a silent auction. Got here and it was disgusting. Carpets look like they have never been cleaned, shelving was all torn apart and showing particle board underneath. Would not walk on the carpet without shoes on. Dead bug and pieces of trash on carpet. We actually left after the first night and paid to stay at another hotel for the second night. It’s disgusting. I will say all the staff was very nice.

You couldn’t pay me to stay here again! We checked in at 3pm Saturday and attended a wedding down the street. After getting about 1 hour of sleep, we packed up and left for home at 2am Sunday morning.
The carpet had no padding and smelled foul. The bathroom window was taped together from what appeared to be a break. The rooms were stuffy and there was no AC. The windows were hardly functional.
Do NOT waste your money on this dump!

Happy. The Hyatt wanted $ 430 for a Thursday night, but the Bilty got me in for $ 119.
Room was spartan and reminded me of my first apartment, but it got the job done for the right price. Also the pool is very well-​kept.

Slightly dissapointed with the energy level at this small tahoe casino. There was only one active table, while the craps table, and surrounding table games were deserted. The thing that held this place together was the $ 2 Bloody Mary’s.
