Sad to learn that they are being forced to close. Our experience was wonderful, food was very fresh and delicious. You can tell they take great pride in their food and service.

Wonderful homemade cookies and soup. If you have never tried a bison burger, stop in– you won’t regret it!

Back in the day when I was little fresh faced Jerry in pigtails and wide eyed innocence, my dad took me to the basement of the old Crown Point Courthouse on lazy summer afternoons for Valentino’s thick ice cream in sugar cones, which was far better than Dairy Queen’s finest in the plain flavorless cones. I consider Valentino’s a fond memory from my childhood and when I think back to those days the pictures in my head are blurred and romantic as if in a old home video film in the days before VCRs and DVDs. Valentino’s is a Crown Point staple, located in the basement of the old Court House along with a dozen or so other shops and it’s named after the silent film star Rudolph Valentino who was married in this town back in the 1920s — check out the marriage license by the register. Fast forward 25 years plus some, Valentino’s still graces the same spot, but in my mind’s eye it’s not the same place. What were once warm fuzzy memories have been replaced by the bright reality that Valentino’s is this day with a full menu in addition to the ice cream with modernized décor. I guess it’s true when they say you really can’t go back, but I’ll always treasure Valentino’s for those sweet childhood memories.
