If I could give them minus 10 stars I would. I really hope others don’t make the same mistake as I did and not read these reviews before doing business with this company. They were full of excuses for my door being TWO MONTHS late! From the time I ordered to the time the door arrived was FOUR MONTHS. I finally received the door and it is the wrong swing. I have discussed this with them and they believe it is entirely my fault, and because it’s a“custom door” it is non refundable. I didn’t know it was custom when the size I ordered is on their website! Wouldn’t custom be a size that not listed on their website? I thoroughly explained to their salesperson when I ordered the door that when opening the door from the inside of the house, I wanted it to swing to the right. I guess this was not a good enough description, and it’s my fault. For a business that sells doors online, how can they not have a better system set up to make this kind of mistake not happen? Pretty unprofessional. I was told by them to just put the door up on Craigslist and order another. I wouldn’t order $ 20 for $ 1 from them after my experience. Back and fourth emails with them and it’s just going in circles. DO YOUR RESEARCH on these guys! There’s negative things on them elsewhere on the net as well. So now I’m four months out on a door and who knows however much longer to get another door from a different company, not to mention who knows how much money I will lose having to sell the door on my own, or if it will even sell! By the way, besides all the negative I have already mentioned, before I even noticed the door was the wrong swing,‘as i opened this door from its packaging, it definitely didn’t knock my socks off. The same quality door can be bought at Home Depot. Unfortunately they did not have the width I wanted. Their doors are defiantly nothing to shout about and look a lot better on their website than in person. This is the first review I have ever written because I’m so disgusted with this company hanging me out to dry, and from the others reviews I’m not the first, and won’t be the last. Also notice the two positive reviews written my supposedly two different people but contain the exact same review! What a sham. Save yourself and go elsewhere and avoid these crooks. I had to post in both of their profiles. They probably tried to erase one because of the bad reviews and ended up with two.

This company used to be really great. I ordered from them eight years ago, and loved the door. But in the last few years, their customer service has tanked, and their responsiveness to inquiries plummeted. They just do not reply to inquiries. Formerly their prices were very competitive, but they have lost their edge in that regard as well. I truly hope they realize that the loyalty of former customers is waning fast. We have several large doors we wanted to order, but since they have been unresponsive, and since their prices are not at all competitive anymore, we are now going to look elsewhere. We are getting the message that they have enough business and guess that they do not need ours.

Horrible company — horrible customer service. Holding up our entire build because our door is taking over three months to be complete and we are not going to get what we want.

Love the doors… ordered for a second time from Nicks. Dealing with Liz in sales has been a nightmare this time. Just canceled a front door order as she has failed to place order not once but twice. We were threatened, blamed for the order confusion when she had all the information to place the order. Liz conveniently found the paperwork in her spam file the third time I called to check on door order. She failed to follow through on order, plain and simple. Her excuse was that she was too busy to do so. I canceled front door order for the sales performance not for the lengthy door production time Nicks stated in credit email. We received the interior doors and am waiting to find out how they handle a couple defective doors. The doors are not well crated for shipping in general. Delivery of recent doors was handled by not only ABF but RAC to this residence… not crated well for the double freight order and reason we had door damage.

I can’t begin to tell you how happy we are with our new garage door and interior doors! Even though we live on Maui and had to pay a lot for shipping the doors all the way from Indiana, it was still less expensive than getting the items here. I sent in a sample of the stain we wanted to match, and the doors as well as the garage door was a perfect match! John T. was easy to talk with and always returned our calls, even though there is a 5 hour time difference. We won’t hesitate to use Nick’s doors in the future.

What a great company to work with. Great doors snd excellent pricing. Natalie made this buying experience such a pleasure. I would strongly recommend this product to anyone who demands a quality door.

These are the rudest people I have ever dealt with in my life. After they got my deposit on my door, I was treated like a second class citizen. My door was more than 6 weeks late, which honestly, I understand things happen. But the way they treated me was unacceptable. I was given 5 different shipment dates, and the door was not shipped on any of them. Every time I would call or e-​mail, I would get transferred to Amber, who may be the rudest person on earth. Regardless of the value, or perceived quality of any product, I will not deal with these people again. Amazing that they are still in business. Check the other reviews, you are better off spending your money elsewhere.

The door we ordered from Nicks was fine. It looked great fit perfectly and still to this day looks great. The problem is the delivery company. I have never dealt with such a horrible company in terms of shipping. ABF trucking who they use in unreliable does not return calls, and does not tell you about hidden charges. With all the trucking companies out there they should use somebody reliable with good customer service.

I just received my door the other day and it looks wonderful. It is 36 inches with two 12 inch sidelights, and it is to the precise dimensions I asked for to fit my rough opening. The quality is excellent, with the trim around the glass and panels fitting very tightly and the assembly being very solid. It looks and feels like a very expensive door. I showed it to the installer and an electrical contractor who were at my house, and they both asked for the contact information for Nicks Building Supply because they want to order doors just like mine for jobs they are doing.

TERRIBLE! STAY CLEAR! Customer service does not exist with this vendor. Doors came with wrong hinges, wrong swing, wrong size, and was Nicks Building fault. Nicks did not back up their mistake and refused to return phone calls or even exchange the door. Refund was clearly not an option with a company who doesn’t return calls or care about customer service or correcting their mistake. Unfortunately for Nicks the issue was sorted using alternate measures and after months of battle Nicks had to refund the cost of the door. This is clearly a poorly run family business… Do yourself a favor… DON’T ORDER FROM NICKS!
