Located in Northwest Indiana, we are a jewelry store that takes pride in our custom gem cutting that is done on site, our award winning custom jewelry designer (Christopher Michael), our in-​store manufacturing of jewelry, and world travels we take to find our rare gems. We also have expert jewelry repair on-​site, as well as the ability to change watch batteries and bands.

Steve Moriarty travels to the sources of rare gems including, Tanzania, Kenya, Madagascar, Brazil, Thailand, Burma and Cambodia. We have deleted the middle men from the supply chain in order to give you the highest quality gems and precious metals available at the lowest possible price. We are the gem cutters, jewelry designer under the name «Christopher Michael» and manufacturer of most of the items you will see at our store in Crown Point, Indiana.

History

Established in 1994.

Steve Moriarty has been in the jewelry business since 1975. He started out wholesale dealing in rare high quality gems, as well as custom cutting these gemstones. In 1994, Steve and Nancy Moriarty opened their own retail jewelry store, Moriarty’s Gem Art. In that endeavor, they built the business around custom cut exotic gemstones and custom designed jewelry that was all manufactured at Moriarty’s Gem Art. Since then, Steve Moriarty is still cutting, traveling, and only using the finest colored gems with the highest clarity available in the jewelry we manufacture here in Northwest Indiana.

Our jewelry designer «Christopher Michael» Moriarty has been designing jewelry since 1996. He started out by sketching jewelry designs and carving the wax models by hand, then transitioned into using CAD to create his immaculate designs. In 2010 he took the grand prize (Best in Show) in an international jewelry design competition put on by Gem Vision Corporation.
