Janet offers a VERY reasonable price for both the session and ordering prints. The other places I looked at were extremely expensive compared to Janet’s prices, and for something I wasn’t entirely sure of, this was helpful. I also appreciated that Janet only booked your session first, with no obligation to buy any products (but you will want to!)
Upon arriving, I was a bit put off by her children being around, but it’s summer break so what can you do? Janet assured me her kids don’t know about her «boudoir» photography. Once I was in the back room in her basement, I did not see them until I left. The hair & make-​up woman that Janet provided, Lindsey, was very friendly and did a great (and quick!) job. I don’t normally wear a ton of make-​up so at first I felt kind of clownish, but after seeing the pictures, the make-​up looked perfect and soft.
When it was time to get started, I was a bit nervous at first. Janet did a great job putting me at ease – she is very down to earth and tells you exactly how to pose, what to do with your face, etc. Once we got into it, I actually had a lot of fun and felt like a model for an afternoon! Her studio is small, but the photos come out looking like you’re in a swanky hotel room. I also thought her little «goody bag» was cute and I ate the chips and M&M’s on my drive back to Chicago, since I’d been on a bit of a diet leading up to the shoot!
Once I received my photos, I was very happy. I had intended on only purchasing a few prints, but all of them looked so good I ended up going with the 5×7 album, which is a good deal if you plan on buying at least 10 photos individually. Janet also did a rush job since my anniversary was fast approaching. My husband was very impressed with the quality, and he is a photographer himself. He said I looked hot and like a Playboy model in the album! Thanks Janet!
The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is this: for a business that is dealing with women who are trying to surprise their boyfriends or husbands (whom they presumably live with), there were a lot of phone calls. I had trouble finding time to talk with her without my husband hearing, and I feel the proceedings in general could have been easier if she dealt more in texts or emails. She even called one night and my husband saw the unknown number on my phone and tried to make me answer it! That is my only suggestion for improvement.

I was a bit apprehensive about having boudoir pictures done as I am not a extrovert and so I took my time and did my research before having decided to go ahead with it.
I had been contemplating the idea for over six months and contacted several businesses in the Chicago area before finally reaching out to Janet. She made a very good impression on me from the beginning: she was very professional during our initial phone conversation and gave me detailed information on what the process would entail, as well as pricing information and tips on how to make the best out of the experience I was about to embark on! Furthermore, she followed up our phone conversation promptly with an email reiterating and detailing all that I needed to know about and expect from the photo shoot. I found her advice on how to prepare for the session extremely helpful and classy: ideas on what to wear, hair and make up, and accessories.
As far as how the actual meeting went, it was seamless, fun, comfortable, extremely productive, appropriate, and perfect in length. I did not have doubts or second thoughts during the photo shoot, nor did I regret my decision afterwards. The pictures and album turned out fantastic! I was especially impressed with the picture selection process: I was involved every step of the way, Janet worked especially fast to provide me with the final product by the deadline I had requested, and she also continued to bring her input and ideas which I had found truly valuable.
I could have not been happier with the entire experience! Thank you, Janet!

When searching for the place to get my Boudoir pics done for my soon to be husband, I looked at a ton of places in Chicago, and Indiana. After speaking with all of them, I felt most comfortable over the phone with Janet, and her prices were more reasonable for the product I wanted.
The day of my shoot I got my hair and make up done. I’m the type of girl that doesn’t ever do either, so this was so glamourous to me! Suzy did a fantastic job transforming me. Before the shoot, Janet sat with me and explained how everything would work, helped me pick out the perfect outfits, and also showed me the different photo albums with no pressure to buy anything.
Janet made the photo shoot fun, playful, sexy… I felt like I was a movie star! She knew exactly what to say to keep me confident, how to pose me, and what outfits to put with each different setting. The most important thing was I was on a time constraint and needed my album within 2 weeks, and she totally made it happen. It is flawless, perfect…
I give me absolute highest recommendation to Janet; I’ll def be coming back! Thanks and I CANNOT wait to give this to my fiancé our wedding night :)

For us city gals on a budget, Janet Lynn is a perfect option if you want to treat yourself to some great boudoir pictures! City photographers can charge as much as $ 2,000, but Janet has her own studio that’s professional and comfortable and the prices are very reasonable. My husband and I are trying to have a baby so I know my body is not going to look like this forever, so I thought I would document it! I’m modest, but Janet made me very comfortable and her hair and make-​up girl, Lindsay, was incredible. It’s the best make-​up I’ve ever had applied and it looked so great in the pictures. flawless! She gave me a super easy hairdo that could be taken down for a «bed head» look. I felt sexy and confident. Janet does a good mixture of posed photographs (which my husband prefers) and journalistic, «caught in the moment» pictures (which I prefer). I had two different outfits, one of which was a pretty expensive lacy get-​up. Janet saw how special this outfit was and went above and beyond with sets and lighting to make it look great. She also knows how to pose a woman. My stomach looked so flat and my boobs looked so perky! My husband LOVED them and I know I’ll be able to look back years from now when I’m old and haggard and say, «Damn, I looked good!» Kudos, Janet… and kudos to her future clients. You won’t be disappointed!
