Beck’s Crown Bakery

Excellent cakes! We’ve ordered several cakes from here and they’ve always been so good and are made well. Some of the reviews referenced having a difficult time trying to order a wedding cake etc, and I can echo that. We had wanted them to do our wedding cake but when I called to set up a tasting they didn’t have availability for months which seems odd. But other than that excellent cakes and would highly recommend!

Great, great donuts. They are big, not too sweet, just the right price for them. These are really cake donuts, not the «bleached white flour» stuff you get almost anywhere else. The pastries they sell there are also delicious, different from what you see around, and again, not too sweet. Nothing else to add, that’s why my review is… short and sweet!

This bakery is great! Really good assortment of cupcakes, cakes, and cookies. High quality baked goods at a good price.

My daughter is getting married next year and a friend gave me the name of this bakery to make her wedding cake — we looked at pictures on their website and the cakes were pretty — it said to call to set up wedding cake consultation. My daughter called to make and appointment in the evening because she works until 5:00 (the website lists the hours until 6:00) — she spoke with Cheryl who was very unpleasant, unhelpful and told her that the «wedding cake decorator» doesn’t meet with anyone after 5:00. My daughter then asked if her fiancé could come by himself one afternoon — Cheryl told her that she would have to check with the «wedding cake decorator» and that she would call her back (my daughter also told Cheryl that they were going back to school in August, so he would like to come before that). This was several weeks ago and she still had not heard back from Cheryl — I decided today I would call, surly my daughter had to have been mistaken about how the call went, because certainly a bakery that is providing a cake for your once in a lifetime special day would defiantly want to provide you with excellent customer service and be as accommodating as possible — not short and rude– right? Well, Cheryl answered when I called too — my daughter was soooooo correct in her account of the way her conversation went — the worst thing though was that Cheryl said she had talked to my daughter — did not apologize for not calling her back — and gave me the same unhelpful information in the same unfriendly way. Then when I asked if there was anyway the «wedding cake decorator» could meet with them Friday afternoon or one evening during the week — she told me she would have to go check with the «wedding cake decorator» — when she came back I was told that the «wedding cake decorator» could not meet with them on Friday afternoon and would not meet with them any evening after 5:00. I asked who the owner of the bakery was and she said that the «wedding cake decorator» was the Owner — when I asked her name I was told that she was not allowed to give out that information — LOL! I then realized — if the OWNER did not care about providing good customer service and trying to accommodate customers — then why would the employees! I truly hope that no one else has this terribly disappointing experience with this bakery. I know we will find a «wedding cake decorator» that will provide a beautiful cake as well as a wonderful experience for my daughter’s once in a lifetime special day — so I will repost this along with their contact information when we do!

I give the baked goods itself 5 stars but the service is pretty bad! All of the girls are older and just dont seem to care whether or not they get or keep your business. I get my cakes from them for everything i do because the cakes are amazing and creative but during my wedding they gave me a hard time and couldnt answer any of my questions, they just kept telling me to come back. When i went in to pay the final balance for my wedding cake i was told they couldnt make my cake that they were already booked! Good thing im so stubborn because as the THIRD person came out to deal with me and checked the book she realized they were booked, by ME! I almost had a heart attack a week before my wedding and the two previous ladies didnt even care!

I had an oversized cupcake to share with my hubby. They frosted it with buttercream and the coated it with dry crumbs. The combo of the dry crumbs and dry buttercream was atrocious. The cake was ok, nothing special. But there was a raspberry filling of sorts… It was thick basically a thick, fake fruit flavored gel. Gross.
I wouldn’t go back if it was the last bakery around.

If picking 0 stars was an option, I would! My fiancé and I were doing cupcakes for our wedding. After 2 weeks of multiple calls and different stories on how they do things with deliveries and pricing, we finally spoke to the «manager». After she changed the price a few times and told us that it would be a waste of her time to do it, she then went on to tell us our idea for cupcakes was a bad choice and that we should do a cake. With this conversation I told her that we did not want a cake, hence why we were inquiring about cupcakes and not a cake. She became very rude and then ended with the statement, «I don’t want your business, take it somewhere else». This bakery had decent cupcakes. However if your planning on doing any type of big purchase that would require a conversation longer than «hello, thank you», I highly suggest you find another bakery. She was so unprofessional and rude that it amazes me that they are still in business.

I find it extremely odd that I am just now receiving a response almost a year later along with a very different version of what actually happened. If you were as polite and as «apologetic» as you were in your response during the whole ordeal, I wouldn’t have been so upset. You were one of the rudest and nasty people I have ever had to deal with. Believe me, your cupcakes weren’t that great too put up with you.

My fav bakery in the world. Everything here is to die for. You’re missing out if you’ve never been

OMG They have bacon cupcakes/​donuts! This was so delicious for breakfast! Definitely will be back!

This is more a review of their management than their baking. Visited their shop three times over the last two weeks. Each time we discussed we were helping our child pre plan the wedding as they live out of the area. Each time we told the person why were there, told them the date, the possible venues and bought a dozen cupcakes to try. They said until they picked the reception hall they couldn’t reserve the date or tell us whether its available. Why? No idea as the halls were all within 10 miles. Today they decided on the Radison and my wife went to the bakery and the lady behind the counter pulls out a book and says «sorry we are booked». I understand it is possible to get booked up but why couldn’t they take the 2 seconds to look at the book to see if the date was open the first time we walked in.

I met Nadine from Beck’s at a tasting event at the Aberdeen Manor in March and after trying the cupcakes from all of the bakeries at the event, we chose Beck’s.
We came in October for a personal tasting to determine what flavors we’d do the cake in and that was a wonderful experience as well! Nadine had about 11 fillings/​frostings and about 6 different flavors of cake for us to try in many combinations. In the end, we went with an almond and strawberry filling with white cake– would have never picked that without tasting it first, but it was phenomenal!
Our wedding celebration was this past weekend and we could not have been happier with the cake! It was exactly as we’d talked about in the consultation and it tasted so so good! Most of our guests mentioned the cake as they were saying goodbye and leaving– it was that good!
We also had a smaller cake added for a special aunt who was celebrating a big birthday that night. We had hoped she would take the cake home with her to enjoy later, but we ended up cutting into it– it was so delicious and moist! She loved it and it was the perfect way to say «Happy Birthday».
Couldn’t have been more pleased with Beck’s! Highly recommended!
