Specialties
An 1889 Victorian inn, specializing in romance and comfort for our guests. The inn is also close to many attractions in the Hudson Valley, such as Kykuit and Blue Hill at Stone Barns. Our innkeepers are knowledgeable about the area and can guide you in the direction of a wonderful weekend. Breakfast is our favorite time, where we are flexible about what our guests can have in the morning, meeting any special dietary needs or allergies as well. Come swim in our large swimming pool in the summer, or toast by the fireplace in the winter. Anytime is great in the Hudson Valley!
History
Established in 1982.
The Alexander Hamilton House was started by Barbara Notarius in an effort to pay for the exhaustive oil bills. As the business became more successful, we added on guest rooms and bathrooms, whirlpools and fireplaces to the Victorian house. In the last few years, Cydney, Barbara’s daughter has become a member of the staff and brought her love of food and hospitality to the guests.
Meet the Business Owner
Cyd K.
Business Owner
Cyd has been involved with the inn since she was a little girl, since she grew up in the bed & breakfast. A lover of culture, she has a BA in Cultural Anthropology from UMASS Amherst and has taken many classes in cooking and cuisine, both from the Culinary Institute of America and the Institute for Culinary Education. She enjoys cooking, baking, dancing, reading and running. She enjoys sewing and knitting as well, and makes aprons, wedding cakes and websites in her spare time. Don’t expect a little old lady innkeeper here, she’s got 5 tattoos and they’re all food!
