My driver’s license is going to expire this year, so I needed to get my eyes examined for glasses to be sure I can pass the eye exam when the time comes. Several years ago I went to the Walmart Vision Center on Dunvale off of Westheimer in west Houston, had my eyes examined by one of the optometrists adjacent to the vision center, and had my prescription filled for glasses. So I went recently on a Sunday. There are no scheduled appointments on Sundays and patients are examined on a first-come-first-serve basis. Diane Berce is the optometrist on Sundays and I watched her take several patients before me. One patient had a foreign object lodged in his eye and although Dr. Berce does not remove foreign objects, she made certain that the patient was taken care of and had her assistant call to find an available opthamologist. When it was my turn, Dr. Berce took her time with me, she was kind, courteous and very informative explaining about the glaucoma test and various procedures. After giving my eyes a clean bill of health and writing a prescription for progressive lenses, she instructed me to wear the glasses for several weeks to get a *real world* experience. «I’m always here on Sundays»(adjacent to the Dunvale Walmart Vision Center), she reassured me, and extended an invitation to come back if there were any problems with my prescription. My eyeglasses rock and so does Diane Berce, whom I recommend highly.
