My service experience today at the Crofton Sear Auto Center was‘pretty good (in contrast to some of the other reviews). I brought my car in with 2 nails in my tire (unrepairable), they honored my Road Hazard Warranty Plan and installed a new tire it while I waited (about 30min). I went there during off-​peak hours (1pm mid-​week). Kinda sweet, I got to shop at KMart while they worked on my tire. :)

First time I tried to come here with a personal vehicle, I made an appointment and when I showed up I wasn’t in the system. I was told there was nothing they could do. I decided to give it another chance with my company vehicle. I called three times with tires and information for the company I work for, it was over $ 1000 in service that was requested. I was told I would be called back to confirm, when they didn’t get back to me I called and they said the same thing, they would get back to me. The last time (third) I called I still wasn’t set to go and that was with a weeks time to get an appointment set up. I cancelled and went elsewhere, obviously they don’t value a customer’s business. May I add that I am not blaming the employees here, the gentleman I talked to flat out said, «I’m the only one here,» when I asked about a call back. They are drowning and are unable to keep up. Hey Corporate, hire some help for these individuals, it shows a lack of leadership at a corporate level. Best of luck to this location, they need it.

So I went back and finally got the part I needed. It was expensive but the man who helped me was very polite. Only downside is the hours

Considerate, thorough, knowledgeable, courteous and accurate. These adjectives describe my experience at the Sears Auto at K mart Crofton. The only suggestion I have is — put up a sign so people can see you hidden behind the K mart. No one would ever know you are there without already knowing you are there and where to look.

This review isn’t for the actual service, but for customer service.
I got an email reminder for an oil change from sears and in the email was a link to make an appointment. Well great, I’ll make my appointment a week ahead of time and come in after work. I get a confirmation email about my appointment and the night before my appointment I get a reminder email.
I drive through evening traffic to my 6:00pm appointment and inform them I have an appointment for an oil change. The guy at the register asks me if I had called for an appointment and also asks when I made the appointment. I tell him that I made it online and I give him my details. He finds my information and then basically says «Yeahhh, you won’t be seen today, because they we working on two other cars. Can you come back tomorrow?» I tell him no, and that’s why I made an appointment beforehand. He unapologetically tells me that the appointment system is just from «corporate» and they don’t use it.
So to be clear I repeat to him «So, my appointment doesn’t mean anything?» and he replies «Yeah, it doesn’t mean anything.»
Well obviously my information was in the system and they can access my appointment, so how exactly is it that your branch can’t deal with appointments? And even if they don’t want to deal with appointments, the least they could do is call me and say that the time I confirmed doesn’t mean anything.
He then asks if I can come in tomorrow. I tell him it would be at the same time and I ask if I would have the same issue if I come back. The look he gave me indicated that his answer was a yes. So why ask me to come in tomorrow, as if that would solve the problem, or as if me confirming that I would come in tomorrow would mean something? Why didn’t he just say to come in at another time in the future and try your luck again?
The most annoying part wasn’t that I just wasted an hour back and forth in traffic but that the guy didn’t give any indication that they were sorry for there issue.
Moral of the story is do not try to make an appointment because apparently it doesn’t mean anything. I understand that appointments for car service can’t always be exactly on time, and that I still may have to wait, but I do expect to be seen on the same day!

Not many people know about this place and I used to get my oil changed here and within an hour, they were done (which is near impossible to find anywhere unless you go to Jiffy Lube, which you’ll never find me at). I had two different bad experiences because I wasn’t going to let the first one ruin my opinion. I have only come here for oil changes and the second time I had a problem my oil pan got broken somehow and the staff FAILED to tell me this. So after two weeks of noticing oil leaking on my driveway, I took it back to get it fixed and it was THEN they decided to tell me. They wouldn’t fix it for free or offer a discount because they failed to believe it was their problem when they knew it was broken and did not tell me. So $ 250 later, my oil pan was replaced and I have never returned.

Took my GTO here to have some tires installed, balanced and did a good job. Wasn’t crowded or anything. Good place for simple work but I wouldn’t take my car here for anything major.

I am pretty certain that my car was manufactured in the lower depths of hell and put together by demon trolls. It seems to truly hate me and well, the feeling is still very mutual. However, I am stuck with it for now and the past two weeks it has decided to remind me of how evil it can be.
Fortunately, it has decided to stage these reminders less than a half mile from the Sears Auto Center located in the Crofton Kmart.
The first was a completely flat and done for tire. Chris and his team were able to replace it on the spot, as well as two others that were in great need of replacement. The price was fair and I drove away content.
Which was my biggest mistake… my car seems to know when I am pleased with it (or at least slightly tolerable of its’ existence). In its’ latest attempt to derail me, it decided to freak out on me all «Christine» style. Lights were flashing on and off as well as the radio. With my alternator’s last dying breath I rolled myself down a luckily placed hill and out of harm’s way. Unfortunately, no amount of charge would keep the car on so a tow was called (I love you USAA!) and it was right back to Sears.
Chris was there again. He answered all my questions, ordered the parts and had my car ready the next day without overcharging me. The hours are pretty great and are convenient whether you break down at noon or 6 PM. I would gladly go back for my next repair. Which, if my car has its way, will not be far off.
