I like it and thought it was a great place, better than cold stone!

My son gets a vanilla baby cone with sprinkles from here 5 out of 7 days a week. Need I say more? I ordered an ice cream cake from here and it was great. Best ice cream cake I’d ever had. The choices are endless here. I highly recommend this place.

Why couldn’t there be more stars available!!! Have to say the wife and I, along with my in-laws love the place and it is a real treat. I have to tell you one time there were out of a particular flavor for the season, I wrote a note to the owner and the made a special batch for us. Each time we go in there the staff is friendly and courteous with generous scoops for just a cone or cup.

After two times here the best I can say about the ice cream here is that is is ok. Yes just ok, no more… no less. This is not a place I would go out of my way for but if your in the neighborhood and you crave ice cream then try it for yourself.

Nothing special. Typical ice cream join. I bought myself a birthday cake(yes i bought myself it because every year the family get one i dont like). There was really nothing special about it. It’s your average ice cream joint.

Driving in the area one night and I say to myself…“I need something sweet”. I think about my options… sweet tea(not sweet enough), candy(too sweet), female(sweet and sour with a strong hint of salt) and then it hits me… MILKSHAKE. This is actually a great idea because as a lactose intolerant person who is gonna drink a 6 lb. milkshake in a few weeks… I need to keep as much dairy and lactaid in my system as possible. Turns out that Bruster’s is a national chain with several locations nationwide. They advertise their ingredients as real and fresh. Scoring points already! This particular location is a little hidden as it’s in a small plaza on a major highway deep in suburban Maryland. They are across the street from the Royal Farms, which is one of several gas stations and restaurants located in the middle of the highway(yea it’s an interesting setup). Walking inside, the shop is small, clean and brightly lit. Found out that this location has been open for about a year. There’s a small seating area with furniture that is a bit upscale for an ice cream shop, but I wasn’t complaining at all. Their menu is pretty extensive with a variety ice cream flavors, sundaes, milkshakes, ice cream cakes, brownies and blasts, which is their version of a blizzard/mcflurry. As much as a blast sounded really interesting, I decided to stick to my milkshake plan. I originally settled on caramel explosion with twix(that’s one flavor/topping) along with peanut butter. The employee informed me that they were running out of the caramel explosion and a little kid in the other line also wanted it so he asked me what I wanted to do. The question reeked of age discrimination to me! I initially thought that this was a good opportunity to teach the kid a life lesson about not always getting what you want. Kids have to learn to be resilient right? In the end, I played the role of enabler and let the kid have her way. I changed my order to german chocolate and peanut butter. Sweet mercy, I think this was the best shake I’ve ever had. It was the perfect combo of sweetness from the chocolate, salt from the peanut butter and crunch from the coconut. Even better, their regular sized shakes are fairly large and filled to the brim. My mouth and tummy were singing«oooooh’s and«aaahhh ‘s» in synchronized harmony. If there is one drawback, I would say it’s the price. A regular sized shake is over 4 dollars and a large shake is over 5. It’s not terribly overpriced in comparison to other spots but it’s up there. That being said, I have to commend the two teenaged employees for their very professional and courteous service. In addition to using fresh products, the employees did a nice job making the orders to the customers’ preferences and were also polite. Who says teenagers are really just maladjusted twerps? Wait a sec… I did… ok, well whatever I take it back and I’ll be back here to try some more things!
