I have claustrophobia, and breathing issues while lying on my back. After an unsuccessful attempt to have an MRI done at a local clinic, it was suggested by my Nurse Practitioner that I go to Open, Upright MRI of Missouri. I walked in, and was greeted by a very polite, friendly, and helpful receptionist who assisted with the check in process. Then, a technician named Dave called me back, started an IV, and walked me back to the MRI machine. There he was very thorough at explaining how the procedure would work. I was able to wear my street clothes, and sit upright in a chair. My MRI was of my brain, and I wore an instrument shaped like a football helmet. It was not tight, and there was plenty of room in the front to see, and breathe. I was also able to watch TV while the procedure was going on. The MRI took approximately 45 – 60 minutes to complete, and went very smoothly. I would highly recommend Open, Upright MRI of Missouri to anyone needing to have an MRI, especially anyone who has claustrophobia, or has breathing issues lying down. Also, I can’t say enough good things about their outstanding staff.
