Throw Back Bar & Grill

So, this place is awesome. I was in the area for Super Night at Balmoral Park. I’m coming from Wicker Park in Chicago. I know, so what! This place is better than any place on north and damen. Debbie, the bartender is fantastic, best bartender ever and pretty. An ambassador for the service industry. There was another employee there and she wasn’t even working, I believe her name is Brooke, she happily got a lime for my lame patron and ginger ale. Such a cool place with cool people. Happily come back to this place. WILL come back to this place.

Had the pleasure of enjoying the Wednesday special of ’50 cent wings’ for lunch. What a delightful experience!
First off, I don’t particularly care for wings but after enjoying them here today I will have to reconsider my wing-​or-​not-​to-​wing preference.
I love the fact that the sauce was not all slathered all over the wings, making for a messy experience. The sauce was on the side and i believe you had the choice of 3 different sauces. I chose barbecue. Also, you have the choice of hot or mild on the wings. I chose mild.
I ordered a dozen wings with fries ($ 1.00 extra).
Needless to say when the cook brought them to me they were freshly cooked and piping hot (temperature-​wise, not the flavor).
What I loved most about the experience was the fact that the grease that the wings were cooked in was FRESH! By that I mean the coating was flavorful and crispy and NOT all greasy and bland tasting. The topper was that by the time I got to my 12^th wing… IT WAS STILL HOT! Oh, not blistering mind you but tastefully so.
I can’t wait to explore this extensive menu! These guys are doing it right! Give that cook a raise!
As it was lunchtime, the many TV’s that were viewable all had that bullshit gossipy type show on.
The bartender did oblige to my request to change the channel from that tripe. I asked for Animal Planet and the other patrons found it favorable as well. For my money, if I’m going to enjoy a pleasant meal, then I want the whole overall atmospheric experience. There’s not always a sporting event on in the afternoon, but I’ll be damned if I’m going to watch Dr. Oz (and I’m not making this up) scoop out 2 vats of liquid body fat while I’m GETTING fat from this great menu!

Good little town bar. A lot of happy hour people and motorcycle riders. They have special front parking for motorcycles. The bartenders have been nice and the place is pretty welcoming. I have never had the food so I can’t comment on that but they have decent drink sprcials. I will say they have a uniquely good bloody Mary. Give it a try if you are in the area.
