We LOVE this place! The fried chicken is amazing! My husband will only eat their fried chicken. The service is always so great. They are attentive to us without being overbearing. It is worth the drive to come here.

Had came back to try Malone’s again, however, I found out that the few bar specials they did have are now gone. Still selling AB draft pitchers for $ 10 bucks which is pretty crazy! The menu is in transition and I assume that the prices will be too. The food is average but I am in the bar to drink chilly beverages and not looking for a big steak dinner. I understand that everything will increase in time but I also know the price of keg beer; and the Management seem to want to make this place a upscale eatery and not a sports bar and grill. I won’t be coming back and as I had said before I do like the place and it is close but so is Appleby’s or a dozen other bar and grills… at least give me a reason to want to come back, lower those beer prices… make me love you again.

Malone’s sits in the middle of the Watson Auto Plaza, which is all about cars, except for Malone’s. The parking lot is goofy, because the parking spot lines are so worn, they’re barely visible. My girlfriend and I got a great booth May 28. We were there for fried chicken. It was a mission. We both ordered the half chicken. I think it’s $ 10.99. It comes with two sides and a salad. She got mashed potatoes and gravy, and green beans. I got green beans and cottage cheese. We both got bleu cheese dressing on the salad. This was a tremendous meal for lunch. I was nearly full after the great salad on a chilled plate with dressing on the side. Our server was not particularly attentive, but I guess she did her job. The fried chicken was A-OK. Not terribly well-seasoned, but cooked well. The green beans were incredible. Just like my Gram cooked them: cooked to death with onions and bacon. That’s just perfect. The cottage cheese was cottage cheese. And I LOVE cottage cheese, so that works. We left with massive to-go vessels. I had two. She had one. I think we both ate one piece of chicken. There were three pieces left for both of us. That was three more meals for me, including the green beans and cottage cheese.

Old and Tired look. Beer prices were rather high for a pint. Bathrooms need remodeling. Service was good and the food was pretty good. Seems to have too many items on the menu, as it is a 6 page menu. It does have a covered patio, but you usually have to go inside to get your drinks as the staff has too many tables to cover.

As indicated by their name, Malone’s is a restaurant with a bar. A wall separates the bar from most of the restaurant seating. My husband and I visited Malone’s for lunch on a Saturday afternoon around 2PM. When we arrived, a few people were seated at the bar. No one was sitting on the restaurant side, and no employees were visible. We weren’t sure if it was a «wait to be seated» or «please seat yourself» kind of place. After standing around for a couple of minutes, we grabbed some menus and sat down at a booth. Soon, we heard the bartender had returned to the bar. I got up to ask the bartender if it was okay that we had seated ourselves, and she rushed over, apologizing for the wait. She was not only the bartender; she was also the sole waitress that day. At Malone’s, you’ll find a variety of foods that include nachos, wings, potato skins, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, steak, ribs, chicken strips, and fish. Their menu is available on their website. My husband ordered his usual plain burger and fries. I had the nachos from the appetizer section, which were«crispy tortilla chips topped with chili, three cheeses, onion, diced tomatoes, sour cream and jalapeños.» I omitted onion and jalapeños. The food was attractively presented, but unfortunately, my husband’s burger was disappointing. He asked for it to be cooked well-done, but about 1⁄3 of the burger was undercooked. It wasn’t pink. It was red. It practically was still mooing. My nachos, however, were pretty tasty. I really hate gloppy, greasy chili, and this was not that kind of chili at all. It had a texture similar to the chili I make at home. Best of all, the nachos were LOADED with cheese. Look at that picture! [By the way, I took at least half of that home with me. :)] I’m giving Malone’s 3 stars only because I enjoyed those nachos. Everything else(i.e., understaffed restaurant, undercooked burger) definitely was closer to 2 stars of «Meh. I’ve experienced better.» I hope we caught them on a bad day, but they did not make a great first impression.

This is a great place to bring your family and watch a game. They have good bar food and a delicious turkey burger(I’m trying to lower my cholesterol). We’ve always revc’d good service but updating the seating would be nice. Still its a great place to eat.

The food was just above average and the under staffed waitress was servicing the restaurant & bar for the afternoon rush. The restaurant facilities were just nasty. I walked through the bar and noticed my shoes were sticking to the floor. Everytime I would lift a foot it was announced throughout the space — stick, stick, stick. This condition made me study the surrounding area. The grime(yellow semi transparent paste — cigarette smoke remnants?) covers everything, pictures, walls, especially the doors to the kitchen(clearly the last person to touch that with any clean was the final inspector whom okayed it for store shipment). I hope you don’t need to use these bathrooms because the aforementioned condition is present in that space too. Clean your restaurant then maybe I will reconsider another visit — maybe. Most likely not, I will try the new restaurant that starts in this space. After they rip the old one out of course.

Went for lunch the other day and tried their fried chicken. It was 8.99 for the all dark meat meal with two sides and a salad. I had the salad with Mayfair dressing which was pretty good… just the right amount of fishiness. The fried chicken was average, could’ve used a little salt and pepper or some other seasoning in the batter, but the chicken itself was very juicy and flavorful.

Went there to watch an NFL game not on the local channels. Great service, and very reasonable prices overall. The food was well above average for bar food. Congenial atmoshere. Will definitely go back.

Swung in here after a evening of shopping. Both of us where really tired, and just wanted some food. First of all, they have Angry Orchard on tab, one of my favorite beers. The waitress was really friendly and our service was fast and friendly. The place was pretty empty, but we were eating late and it was a Wednesday so i wouldn’t expect it to be too full. I have to say, I spent a few minutes just looking around, it looks like a good bar to just hang out in with some friends and have a good time. I had the Buffalo chicken sandwich and fries and both were really tasty, the fries were some of the best I have had in a long time. The sandwich was very good, spicy, but just right. My friend had the grilled cheese and stated that’s what she’s getting«because they make them correctly here». After seeing it, I have to say she was right. Good food, good service, good atmosphere, will return!

«A Little bit of Chicken Fried»… I recently kept hearing that song and have been hankering some Fried Chicken. A Groupon offer popped up in my mailbox and the light bulb when on. So today, it came to be. My husband and I both ordered the all– white ½ platter. 2 breasts, 2 wings, house salad, and 2 sides.($ 12.99) A Croissant with honey was also included, but they were out. Now, why is it when a place is out of something you automatically want it more? The Chicken is the real star, and the pieces were large and perfectly crunchy. The house salad greens were nice and crunchy. The service was great. ” Cold Beer on a Friday Night”…

We have been to Malone’s a few times and it seems like every time we go there is some sort of an issue. In the past its been that potato skins can’t be ordered because they didn’t have any potatoes(!!!), no tomatoes on the burgers since they were out of them(again !!!) and on and on. Tonight it was horrible service with crazy loud music! And then a filthy women’s bathroom where the paper towels were impossible to get up of the holder! And the children’s meal comes with a Capri Sun(which our daughter doesn’t like) so then she doesn’t get any drink w her meal. We then have to pay to for her milk! Certain things need to be looked over in this restaurant! Their burgers used to be great, now they are ok. Their chicken strips are tasty though. Fish and chips are ok, the salads too.

Great place to go for Keno, cocktails, & good food specials. I took away one star because they didn’t have HD channels on their televisions.

I live really close to Malone’s on Watson and it’s always intrigued me because of its odd location in a plaza with all automotive businesses. I never went there, however, not knowing much about it. Enter Groupon. I bought one and decided to use it last week on a night when I was exhausted. We walked in and it is kind of dark like a typical pub. It has a huge amount of sports memorabilia everywhere, which was cool. I spent time reminiscing about going to the Indy 500 when I was younger as there were lots of pieces of memorabilia from that. We were helped right away from our waitress, who was great throughout the night. I ordered a margarita — one of their specialties. A big fishbowl margarita is $ 3!!! Yes, $ 3!!! Get it flavored(I got frozen strawberry) for only $ 4. The best prices in town, and it’s not even happy hour. Their appetizers are half price during happy hour. Talk about great specials. I’ll go back for those. We got the provolone cheese sticks, which they make in house. They may be the best in STL. Perfect coating on the outside, stringy cheese, flavorful, and with a yummy homemade marinara sauce. DONOT pass these up! I ordered the tostada salad(without chicken) and my hubby got a burger. They came out with good timing after our appetizer. My salad was bigger than my head. It was GIGANTIC. Way too much for me to eat. If I came back, I would’ve asked for dressing on the side because I couldn’t take home leftovers of a salad already dressed. It gets too soggy for me. It was good though! My hubby loved his burger and the fries were perfectly seasoned. Service and food were great, and with the groupon we only owed about $ 6, We left a 20% tip for our attentive waitress and will be back for sure!

Ok, so my «5» star rating is for the Fried Chicken Dinner. Yes, Malone’s is in another ubiquitous strip mall, this one focused on car repairs. They have the typical slew of sports memorabilia, hunter green and dark wood. That being said, Ah, the CHICKEN!!! So, turns out their Chicken trumps Hodak’s, Porter’s, Young’s, King Edwards, and even Sweetie Pies! I am a true fried chicken enthusiast so I feel I have some credibility. I understand the recipe is based on the old tried and true recipe of the former No. County institution Romine’s. And it gets even better, Sunday and Mondays they have a chicken special — 6.99 for ½ chicken and two sides. Now for the description, drool! Mahogany crust that both crisp and crunchy, the inside is sweet succulent and perfectly seasoned. I want some now! Take a trip out Watson Road and ENJOY!

I stopped in for drinks the other night. The location is kind of funny, they are literally smack dab in the middle of a strip of 4 or 5 different auto service shops. I imagine this could be useful if you were in need of repairs, but didn’t have anyone to come pick you up so you had to wait for your car to be done. Malone’s and other bars that consider themselves Irish pubs frustrate me. Other than green themed signage, and a couple of clovers here or there, this has nothing to do with the Irish. I asked a couple of employees what the best dishes were… the responses… quesadilla and fried chicken. I didn’t even see anything remotely Irish on the menu. Oh well, this is a gripe larger than this individual restaurant. The drinks were cold, service was outstanding, and the place has a warm comforting feel. It really feels like a cool neighborhood hangout. I’d gladly revisit again, but will always be frustrated with a place that calls itself and Irish pub with no linkage whatsoever into Irish culture or food.

Had lunch here yesterday. Had the fried chicken. Pretty good, it came with a salad(basic iceberg lettuce, carrots, cheese) mashed potatoes and green beans. My friend had the burger and liked it, no problems. Staff was friendly and they were not busy at all. I’d go back, chicken was very good.

I go during the lunch hours and have gone during Happy Hour in the past. The staff is great and outgoing and the crowd is nice. It’s mainly local older folks, but they certainly are not fussy. The drinks are cheap and the food is decent. I like the neighborhood feel to it earning that little extra star. I typically get the Grilled Cheese. It’s yum! The wings are decent. The Irish guy in the front window tho’ is super creepy. This is, thankfully, a smoke free place. You can go outside and smoke and eat outside too. It’s covered and I think warm all year around, but I stay inside.

$ 6.99 Sunday«the best chicken EVER» supper was way to good not to write about it. The hype I heard from the father & cute little daughter about the place made me want to be «muhaha» about the experience, but the chicken was great battered deep fried greasy chunks of meat. The littlest 7 year old girl ate most of her breast, thigh, leg & wing and left the choice of French fries & corn for sides mostly alone. The chicken is that good. The sarcastic Junior High daughter left her i-phone alone(even w/alerts beeping) long enough to eat most of her big meal! I had bowls of the vinegar based Cole slaw & mashed potato w/brown gravy. Both were pretty tasty sides with many others being offered. I tasted the French fries & could tell they were cooked in the same grease as the chicken giving it more flavor than normal. Tabasco was the only hot sauce. A bone plate and a much needed wet-ones was provided. Even then I still needed to wash my face & hands from the grease.(While not the healthiest, the food was tasty!) Being the frugal eaters, we ate w/buy one get on free coupon my friend had and they honored them on the special… That is $ 3.50 for 4 piece of chicken & two sides with waitress service! There was only one server and they said they had more business than usual, but she was nice & kept up for the most part so we tipped 20% of the $ 10.99 normal price w/salad for each meal.(This has been a shout-out to my two use to be waitress nieces that used to complain about people not tipping regular on discounts ;) The place is mostly a Irish tavern style with booths and tables in the center. They did have some big screens to watch the Packers destroy the Cowboys.
