Jefferson’s Bourbon Visitor Center at KY Artisan Distillery

What I really like about this distillery tour is that you don’t have to be a bourbon fan to love this tour! If you love Jefferson’ products, you’ll love it obviously, but you will also learn a lot about the distilling process in general. We found out that Oldham County is the Farm Tour Capital of Kentucky. You may ask yourself what that has to do with anything. Grains are actually grown for some of the distillery’s brands on a farm right down the street! Kentucky Artisan is a co-​op distillery too so you learn about private brands of guest distillers and see unique distillery equipment that the other distilleries just don’t have. Great tour! Even for those who don’t care for bourbon. For those Jeffersons’ fans, you’ll learn the stories behind their brands, which are fascinating! The gift shop is great too! An added bonus is that Yew Dell Botanical Gardens is right next door! We found out that La Grange is the only town in the world with a freight train running down its Main Street and that their restaurants on just feet away from the passing trains. We will be back to see what else Oldham County has!
