I wouldn’t recommend this store at the Crestwood location to anyone… Called this store to inquire about some Pompom Bushes… was told that I could come in to place an order for them with a deposit. Rushed right over to make the purchase along with some other things. The owner«Peter Baronus» approaches me so I say, «Hi, how are you with a smile.» He replied in a very low tone and without a smile, «hi». I said, I just called about ordering some of your Pompom Trees. He quickly and sternly replies, they’re bushes and I don’t carry them in the store because they are expensive and people steal them so you have to order them and put down a deposit. I said, ok, I don’t know much about gardening but I am in the process of getting a makeover and I’m going to need a little help. I then asked if I could see their catalog. He replied, I don’t carry the Pompom in the store but if you know anything about them they are about this tall with about five arms. I said, ok but do you have a picture of them, how much are they, and how much is the deposit? He said, they are expensive and I’ll need about a $ 100 or more deposit. I said, oh that’s kind of a high deposit, do you have a catalog so I can see them?. He immediately gets upset and says, they are expensive and if you don’t have a deposit, you can go somewhere else, I don’t mean to sound offensive but they’re expensive. I said, I never said I didn’t have a deposit. He completely cuts me off and says, I’m offended that you are complaining about the deposit. I said, I didn’t complain, I made a comment about it. Again, he angrily cuts me off and says, you can go somewhere else, they’re expensive and I’m done talking about. He then walks away. I turned around and asked the cashier for the manager’s name. How shocked was I that he was the Manager and Owner. First of all, why was it necessary to tell me about them being stolen? Do I look like a thief or perhaps it was one of my brothers? Second, why wasn’t I greeted in the same manner as I greeted him? Oh, how I wonder! Third, why couldn’t I get a price, instead of the repeated«they’re expensive»…hmmm, I guess I just looked as if I couldnt afford some bushes. Fourth, why was he so angry at the fact that I wanted to see a picture of the all so very expensive bush that I was about to invest in… and why did he get so offended that I voiced my opinion about the deposit? Not only will I not shop at this establishment but I intend to share my story with every listening ear… By the way Mr. Owner, the person you passed judgement on has three degrees and earn enough money to buy anything in your store that my heart desires. Oh, and by the way, I was looking to purchase 6 Pompom«Trees» along with enough rocks and flowers to go around the perimeter of my property. You should be ashamed of yourself!

What a cute name for a nursery! This little garden center has all of the typical plants and shrubs. I didn’t see many bigger plants or trees but maybe I missed them. A few employees passed by me while shopping and didn’t really acknowledge me. It wasn’t until I went to pay and 3 people were helping me check out. I did have a lot of flowers, but help while I was shopping would have been nice too. Prices are probably on par with little, local nurseries. I am sure they can’t compete with the big stores like Lowes and Menards when it comes to prices, but I like to support the little businesses. A group of kindergarten-aged kids were going on a tour of the garden center when I was there. They were learning all about the different vegetable plants and what kind of foods they make. It was really cute to see and such a great idea! I don’t know if they do this all of the time. Since this place is 10 minutes from where I work, I’ll definitely be back to escape during my lunch hour!
