History

Established in 1996.

The business began as Chim Chimney Sweep in 1979, and changed over the years from offering primarily service to include hearth products for installation.

One of the first EPA Studies of clean burning wood stoves took place in Crested Butte in the early 1980’s. Chim Chimney tplayed a major part, providing residents with new free woodstoves, once the EPA took away the old stoves to study in the lab. A follow-​up study was conducted in the late ’90’s, under current ownership.

By 2005 there was a new name: Hearth & Sol, Inc. As the industry grew so did Chim Chimney Sweep and Stoves! Now services offered include: design, whole-​house heat consultation as well as chimney sweeps, repair and other services.

It is an exciting time to provide the highest quality, high-​altitude hearth products available. We recommended several products that fit our markets needs, for this area of the southern Rockies and for this time of need for local renewable sources of energy.
