By far one of the best restaurants I’ve ever tried. I am obsessed with this spot! We had their Pad Thai and Lamb Korma, they were both to die for. I was honestly so impressed with the quality of food. The dishes were full of spectacular flavors and spices, we couldn’t stop eating even though we were so full! For an appetizer we had the crab cakes, they were delicious as well. It amazes me how a small location can get so many different ethnic dishes right. The ginger martini is delish, I wish we would’ve tried more of their beverages but certainly will come back to try more of their food. It seems like it was a house turned into a restaurant, so it has a very homey and welcoming feel. Plus, the server was very sweet, and added on to the welcoming/homey feel. The entire place is painted yellow, it gives off happy vibes. There are two clean bathrooms by the back, male/female. We can’t wait to visit CB again, so we can indulge at Ginger Café many more times.

OVERALL: This place is awesome and is one of my favorite places in the town of Crested Butte! Their food is delicious and the service is great too!* PROS: The food is amazing! They are also very good at being accommodating towards specific dietary needs or desires. They have three vegan dishes on the menu, but there are actually three more dishes(in addition to those three) that can be made vegan upon request. They have vegetarian dishes, and of course plenty of chicken for those meat lovers out there! Everyone can find something that they like which is great! CONS: This place is small and very popular. So, that means its hard to just walk in and get seated unless you visit in the«off» seasons; and sometimes it can be loud. NOTES: Make a reservation! They do have a full bar. They are located on Elk Avenue(the main street in town, which makes it easy to go explore Crested Butte before or after dining!) *Although I am not a local to Crested Butte, I have been coming here during both the summers and winters since 2002.

Came before the crowd and had the place to ourselves. Delicious food, will definitely be back. The wait staff was setting up for the evening, but gave us all the attention we needed, including making sure that the spice level of the meal was just right.

This little house/café hit the spot after a long day of traveling and hiking. My husband and I both ordered the pad thai, his extra spicy. He’s a glutton for spice, and he said this was the tastiest, spiciest pad thai he’s ever ordered. Bingo! They loaded us up on noodles, tofu, chicken and peanuts. Our plates were literally overflowing and we each had to get a to-go box(unheard of for us, lol). We received prompt service and the prices were phenomenal for the taste and quantity of the food. If we ever come back to Crested Butte, this spot will be the first stop!

A local recommended we try Ginger Café for takeout. We picked up takeout from The Ginger Café on Christmas Eve. I ordered the vegetable curry which was so so satisfying after our drive to Crested Butte. I want to figure out how to recreate this dish so that I can enjoy it again and again. I loved that their curries were more of a stew. They had that fresh made homemade feel to them that really hit the spot. My partner ordered Rogan Gosht(curried lamb) which was equally as delicious. We cannot wait to be back in CB so we can order again.

Always a go-to for us when we visit CB. The food is AMAZING!!! Everything is made to order — I found that out when my daughter’s miso soup was taking quite a long time, and the waitress told me that every batch is made as it is ordered. We had great service when we were there too. It is a very small restaurant so it is best to have a reservation.

My husband and I loved the food here. Super flavorful even for us vegetarians. We ordered the Tom Yum, Green Curry and Ginger fried rice. All three dishes were great. Definitely will go back before we head home. Some of the best Thai I’ve had since moving to Colorado.

I love this place. I’ll start with our waitress, Heather. She was so friendly, great recommendations, fun personality. The food was great, drinks phenomenal. And the décor… adorable! I’m sure this place is packed in the season and it was busy in the off season which says a lot. Make reservations! Will definitely return.

Came in after 4 on Saturday in the off season and were the only people there except one couple at the bar, who seemed to be locals. Got seated with menus and water right away, and ordered the lavash and spring rolls as appetizers, along with a pot of hot green tea. Got our tea fairly quickly and then ordered entrees. After about 10 minutes our apps came out; both were excellent! The spring rolls were crunchy and hot, and the bread was fluffy, light and had a yummy cilantro yogurt dipping sauce. My husband ordered the pad Thai because the server recommended it as their most popular dish. He asked that the sprouts be cooked, or if not possible, then to leave them off. And he ordered tofu as his protein. After 15 minutes it came out with a wad of uncooked sprouts and no tofu. It took our server several minutes(two more tables of 2 had been seated) to come over and check on us, and we told her there was no tofu in the dish – she peered into it and asked if we were sure – tofu is pretty hard to miss. So she went to the kitchen and asked for a side of tofu, which came out ¾ of the way thru hubby’s meal. I ordered the Pad Gra Pow, rice with red bell peppers, onions, scallions, carrots, basil and Thai chilies. Our server said it was the spiciest dish on the menu; I asked if they could make it on the milder side of medium. Happily, it came out perfect! Just the right spicy, really good flavor, lots of red bell peppers! Yum! We had to ask twice for more hot water for our tea; the second time, our server just forgot it because it took 15 minutes to come out. When we asked about it, she said it was brewing, and then brought it to us in about 2 minutes. When we poured it, it was just water – the teabag was used up, which means it was the original teabag. We were not asked if we wanted another teabag – and when we asked to see a bag of the same tea because we wanted to purchase some, she brought out the used wrapper from our bag! Did she think we would abscond with it if she brought out a new one for us to look at? Food was okay, decent price, but service was meh. Won’t go back – better places in town to eat.

Went here last night and was absolutely pleased with the amazing meals we had! Not your traditional thai or Indian style but absolutely worth it. There was so much flavor in each of our dishes. We had the ginger fried rice and vegetable stir fry. Would highly recommend.

Ok, so first thing’s first, although this restaurant is listed as «Thai,» their menu includes dishes from Indian cuisine with other Asian influences as well. We had the smoked salmon lavosh as an appetizer. I’ll be honest and say that I wasn’t familiar with the term«lavosh» before we had it, but it was fantastic! My entrée was a korma with shrimp. The ingredients were definitely high quality and while the spices were also good, the overall dish did not wow in the way I expected. Our server was really nice and helpful, although the overall service was slow. However, being on vacation, this slow food model was totally fine by me. I also enjoyed a couple items on their home-grown drink menu. I had the Ginger Colorado and a Flying Horse(Indian import lager). So, bottom-line, if you like Thai, Indian, or other Asian cuisine and you’re in Crested Butte, make a reservation and go to the Ginger Café.

Not sure how I feel about this. Something changed… Pretty slow service and awful food. Not even an Asian joint anymore.

I’ve got to say that the food is awesome. We came early and the place wasn’t crowded… That being said, service was really slow. The two drinks my kids ordered sat on the bar for at least five minutes. It seemed as if there was one waitress at the time. Getting past the service, I would recommend this to anyone and would have given them five stars.

This place came with recommendations, but sometimes locals hype up what’s in their town cause it’s the best there is– even though it’s not the best. This is the case with Ginger. Service was painfully slow for only 4 of us on the patio at 5pm. The Thai iced tea was chalky tasting with no sweetness. Who serves it this way? A first for us. My mint soda was totally forgotten by the waitress– oh well. The mussels were ok. The $ 13 or so price was about average for this dish. Flavor was decent but some of the mussels tasted old and being from a seacoast we decided to pass on a few. It was an average experience so we asked for the bill and decided to eat dinner elsewhere. Will I go back next time I’m in CB? Probably not.

Went with a friend. We ordered Thai iced tea(with coconut milk), mint ginger soda, avocado and smoked salmon spring rolls, green Thai curry and pa gra pow. All the food was awesome and came out quick. Jamie(the bartender) helped us choose what we ordered and was interesting to talk to about the area. Will definitely be back.

Wow, amazing food for a little place. The menu is a mix of Thai, Indian(I think, I wasn’t paying close attention), Japanese, maybe some Chinese. I stuck to the Thai side and was quite happy. As others said, it seems to be a local favorite, packed even on weekdays. Especially if you’re tired of burgers and pizza, I highly recommend this place!

Crested Butte comes through for us with a great spot for dinner! It’s an upscale Thai spot that has some Indian and others flavors a mixed in. Our dishes and appetizers were super tasty and spiced well. The menu doesn’t have tons of vegan options(most people don’t care anyways) but they were very accommodating and made me this awesome spicy vegi dish Kadai(see photo) that was on point! They use local ingredients, which is a plus for me. It is a bit on the pricy side, but Ginger has a nice vibe and ambiance, so what do you expect in this fancy ski town? It’s still affordable and great quality. Totally recommend it!
