Established in 2006.

Big Al’s opened it’s doors in 2006 in a small space in the industrial side of Crested Butte. We now have a prime time spot on Elk Avenue right in the heart of downtown Crested Butte. This shop was the dream of owner, Ali Fuchs, from the time she fell in love with Mountain Biking to the day the doors opened many years later. Next year we will be celebrating out 10th year in business and couldn’t be happier to still be getting people out on bikes and having fun!

Love the customer service, LOVE the bikes, and Love the knowledge that these guys give. Plus they are SUPER chill. They will give you the rundown on where to go on the roads for mountain biking and its perfectly located downtown so when your done with your ride you can use your adrenaline rush to get a cocktail or a brewski!

My son who lives in Boulder and I drove to CB for a camping/​biking weekend September 2015. I rented a high end mountain bike (dual suspension) from Big Al’s and we biked 401, Teocalli and Strand Bonus. The bike was perfect and the two Boulder guys who waited on us at Big Al’s were awesome. Quick in and out pick up and drop off. Even showed us some of the trails on their map. If you need to rent a bike in CB try Big Al’s. You won’t be disappointed… except I did not get to me THE Big Al Dude.

Excellent customer service! Right off the bat, all the guys here were so helpful and so friendly. Despite the line, we were helped right away and they got all our bikes ready while we were filling out the paperwork to rent the bikes. They were also able to give some useful information on the nearby trails we could go on. Plenty of accessories and stuff available as well, anything you could need for a nice mountain biking session around Crested. They helped us get everything adjusted on our bikes and taught us how to use the gear shifts and everything as well before we left, for those of us who are not so keen on the mountain biking knowledge. Helmets are included in the bike rental. If I was ever in the area again, this is the only place I would come for a bike rental.
