You can get just about anything here Unfortunately we were there to buy back items stolen from us by a family member during a party. I wasn’t surprised to hear 2 other people there for the same reason. It just seemed disorganized and kind of dirty. I bet a lot of the goods were stolen. I am sure the owners are protected somehow as most of the things they sell are low end items. Music. Games. In our case it was a gaming system and tablet. Just a little too shady for us to ever return.

Nice place with a big selection of CD’s, DVD’s, Blu Ray’s and video games. Lots of other random stuff too. Stereo equipment, action figures, games, books, collectibles. The prices are good and the people are pretty nice.

A great place to buy what you are looking for. Scott the manager is a really nice guy and the staff treats you in a professional manner.

Big selection. Good prices. Find good games for cheap prices. Fun to browse the music. You find some cool obscure stuff.

Came here to get a gift for a family member. They need some serious reorganization because it’s impossible to look through the crates of unorganized vinyl crammed under the shelves. Their prices are good but the staff is iffy. They seem pretty stuck up.

Went in looking for LPs. They have lots of them but mostly crap. If they organized them and lowered the price on the better ones they had they could sell lots of them. There just isn’t way to look through stuff on the floors and in chest level bins and get idea of what they have. Organize, lower prices, move inventory. Seems simple.

Love this store! They have so many unique toys/collectibles in addition to CDs, DVDs, and video games(plus used systems and electronics). I found a gift certificate from 2 years ago with the Christmas decorations this year and cashed it in for some Wii games for the kids. I was delighted that there was no expiration and they didn’t give me a hard time about it being so old. Plus, the girl who rang me up was the same one who wrote the certificate 2 years ago… so that was pretty neat.

They carry all sorts of goofy crap in this store. Seems they’ve purchased some emo’s weird toy collection, because there’s these goofball action figures all over. PRO: You can find the occasional oddball DVD movie there. CON: Their prices for used DVD box sets are a bit much. I was actually able to purchase something cheaper from Amazon dot com, and it was new. PRO: They do sell vinyl. CON: Their vinyl selection is way overpriced. What they charge $ 8 can be found on eBay for $ 2 plus $ 4 postage — and in better condition. You may find an obscure rock bootleg, which are fun to collect, but they want ridiculous prices $ 29-$ 79 per disc. Crazy. Most of the vinyl suffers from what I call«finger f_cking» from people handling them, so expect covers with dings and bent corners. This dramatically drives the value down, making their vinyl prices even that much more unrealistic. I’ve inquired if their prices are negotiable and was told no, since«the owner» makes the prices. OK. Then I’ll just fingerf_ck a little more and leave w/o buying anything. I bet the guy who makes up the vinyl prices does so based on eBay prices, which is dumb because his stuff isn’t in primo condition and eBay is a word-wide marketplace(and Disc Replay is limited to the economic environment in Joliet, Illinois). PRO: You might find a bootleg CD here. CON: Warning! They have, in the past, had homemade bootleg CDRs in with their used CD collection, complete with blurry home-inkjet-quality covers. Whoa! Selling original silver disc imports are one thing. But, offering computer-burned copies is badbadbad. PRO: They are now offering used vintage electronics like old phonographs and reel tape players. CON: Like their vinyl, their asking price for their electronics is over the top. And, they carry crappy 1980s and 1990s stereo components, too, which are cheap garbage. And, the way they’re displayed makes the place look like a flea market. PRO: They buy used games and music. CON: They buy used games and music from drug addicts and thieves. So, if you’re home or car is burgled, this is where the thief will go to sell your stuff. PRO: A couple of their employees are friendly. CON: One of them, in particular, is a wanker. I once was shopping for a DVD one evening, to find them playing crappy metal really loud in the store and the wanker was glowing to his co-worker about being at a heavy metal concert and it being magical. I just shook my head at the little weenie and giggled. PRO: They sell used music-related books, too. For those who actually read, you may find an interesting biography.

It’s okay, nothing special. I’m certainly not going to trip over my tongue raving about the place. A few of the employees seem to be okay people, and that helps a lot, while others do have that tragically hip attitude that they can leave at home. Both this store and the Orland Park store are dives. Why is that? Geezus, clean the place up a bit and stick a few air freseners around. Yeah, pretty good selection of rock/pop/metal. Not the same for folk or blues, which I head to first, then make my way to new releases. I’ve never had a problem with any purchases there. I think in his stretch of hard times that they could drop the standard price a dollar. Multiple purchase discounts are fine if you’re making multiple purchases, but I frequently walk in & out with making a purchase or only buying a single disc because nothing else catches my interest. It’s really a shame that the Downers Grove store folded, so we’re left with this as probably the best choice around for used. That is, if you don’t feel like driving up to Reckless Pecords on North Broadway in the city.

the joliet location of disc replay has been open for about 15 years in 2 different spots in the smae plaza… when it opened up, it was in a small, cramped space, but a few years ago, it expanded into a much larger space. since the old crow’s nest record store closed up shop a couple years back, and circuit city is now gone, and best buy and target are the only other big stores that carry music are still around, disc replay is now the go to place if you want to buy good music for less that what you’d pay for at best buy or target. the prices for used cd’s are usually $ 7.99, but then again, they have multiple copies of the same thing, so maybe they should price a few of those babies under the higher cost… they also sell used dvd’s and box sets of all kinds, and old vhs tapes, and about 10 – 12 crates of old vinyl under the cd racks that have a decent amount of good stuff, if you take the time out to go through everything. all in all, disc replay is a place that will keep your music and movie collection full without breaking your piggy bank!

Out of ALL the disc replay’s I’ve been too, this IS by far the BEST. Thank god its in my back-yard. First off, ALL or almost all the products brought into this store are used and ARE in PERFECT to NEAR Perfect condition. They will not except a disc if there are scratches on it. I been shopping there for… well over 10 years now and never had a problem with anything I purchased from there. Their selection is AMAZING tons of cd’s, surprisingly ALOT of Classics. I am there almost every week and I am always surprised to see just how many GOOD cd’s they have, and I’m talking about EVERY genre of music(except techno/electronic). Their DVD selection is also AMAZING. I can always find the movie I want there. They also have a HUGE game section ranging from next gen systems(ps3,x360,wii) to old school systems(nintendo, snes, n64). They sell records posters. I mean they have just about everything. ITS A NO-BRAINER, GOTOTHISSTORE!

This Disc Replay, located in the shopping plaza at the corner of Larkin and Route 30, is a gem of a record resale shop. They’ve expanded so much over the years that they have nearly the same range of stock provided by large music retailers. Chances are if you’re nosing for anything from Steve Earle to Marilyn Manson or Stevie Ray Vaughn to Nirvana, you’ll find something here by each of them. They also have large DVD, LP and video game sections. Bring your money here instead of Best Buy and your collection will grow TWICE as fast. They also offer pretty reasonable cash for your trade-ins unlike hack corporate joints like Game Stop which will give you a dollar or two a DVD or CD. It’s a hip record store with cult-classic movie and music posters adorning the walls and offered for sale. Even though they don’t exclusively sell vinyl, this is the kind of record store that movies like High Fidelity remind us are fading away fast. I picked up Bruce Springsteen Live 75 – 85 here for 22.99. YES!!! As you walk around you’ll see others frantically snatching up their different finds. Recommended. Highly.
