Woodfield Manor is a Country Inn consisting of 6 suites in the Main Lodge and 14 cottages on the property. There is a fine dining restaurant located in the Main Lodge as well called The Frogtown Chophouse.

History

Established in 2007.

Woodfield Manor has a rich history dating back to before 1808. Originally, the Inn was an exclusive hunting club and stage stop for wealthy patrons from New York and New Jersey boasting a bathroom and wooden sink.

In the 1950’s the new owners expanded the Inn into a resort and added a swimming pool and tennis courts. This helped build a thriving seasonal business where families could vacation for a week at a time in the beautiful Poconos Mountains.

After another extensive renovation, the Manor now houses an upscale steakhouse, The Frogtown Chophouse, six manor suites and thirteen on-site cottages. Every cottage features a gas fireplace, ideal for a romantic dinner or week-long stay.

Decorated in rich wooded tones, guests will enjoy the quiet serenity of this twelve acre Inn with it’s inviting in-ground heated swimming pool, fine dining restaurant, and natural wood surroundings.

From the moment we booked, Woodfield Manor made our stay as comfortable and friendly as possible.
First, when I left them a message that we would be arriving late the night before Thanksgiving, they called me several times until they reached me to let me know that it was no problem and that they left a key for me. When we arrived (cold, tired and late!) the cottage was already warm, clean and comfy with nice furniture and a great gas fireplace. Our 1.5 y.o. loved the cottage and the grounds and didn’t want to stop exploring!
We forgot her favorite pillow on the last day and they went above and beyond searching for it, even mailing it to us when it was found so our daughter wouldn’t have to go without.
I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if I am ever in the area. This is how hotels/resorts should be run.

Although we really liked the manor and the very friendly staff, I would not recommend staying the the main building. The restaurant below is very popular in the weekends and from about 10pm to midnight the staff is cleaning up and moving furniture (or at least that is what it sounds like) well into the night. It’s super loud and makes for a frustrating night. We would only go back if one of the cottages was available for our stay.

If your ever visiting the Poconos and looking for great place to stay Woodfield Manor is it. Rooms are very clean, and well maintained. The staff is very friendly. They also have a great pool to relax at. We loved our visit at Woodfield Manor.

TAKE YOUR EARPLUGS!!!
Our plan was to get away from the bustling noise of the city. What we did not realize was that most of the rooms are located right on top of the restaurant/bar. You can hear every noise — down to the intimate detail of half-drunk midnight conversations
So, forget about the bar closing at 10 or 11 p.m. — people stay talking until 1 a.m. (or whenever)! Unless you plan on joining in the conversation you are in for a long sleepless night.
After complaining about the noise, we were moved to another room for the following night. This was great, but we felt cheated to have been put in a tiny room above the bar to begin with.
The staff — both at the hotel and restaurant — are REALLY nice and accommodating, but overall this would not be a reason enough to go back.
If you insist on staying there, make sure to ask for a cabin, or room 21 or 23.

Very relaxing experience. Pretty sad kitchen-one counter, garbage, college-sized fridge and microwave but it made do for the weekend. Housekeeping never came but rest of staff was very nice with great recommendations. May consider again next year!

My future ex-girlfriend and I went here solely based on it being the cheapest in the area. We weren’t expecting much, seeing that we paid so little compared to Mt Airy rooms or other rooms near by.
Once we got there, were pleasantly surprised. We were in the room above the restaurant (not the cottages), and the room was AMAZING. There was a king sized bed, and a 2^nd room with couch and a table, and 2^nd TV. Fridge, toaster, coffee maker, microwave. The bathroom looked newly renovated and was truly spotless. We went out for the night, but I can imagine the restaurant noise can be a annoyance if you plan ongoing to sleep at 9pm. We didn’t see the cottages but we’ll be going back this summer.
Mount Airy Casino was about 2 miles away. The outlets were close too, about 10 minutes. (Not a good thing when traveling with your girlfriend.). I am pretty sure there are other things to do (skiing, camping, boating), but we went to gamble so I am not sure about that.
Management was so friendly. From check-in to check-out this has been one of our best experiences.

If you are looking for a simple vacation spot to relax and unwind, Woodfield Manor fits the bill. They offer a few cabins to stay in. I was in a two room plus bath cabin which featured a bedroom, bathroom, and the main room with a pull-out couch and small kitchen. Both rooms have TVs which was nice.
There is an outdoor pool near the main office, neither of which is far from any cabin. Never fear, to get out of the sun or other elements there is a screened gazebo where you can settle in with a book or whatever else you bring with you.
There is wifi throughout the area and a restaurant attached to the office. They provide you with all the information you could want on local attractions and the office was always very helpful. You can find other restaurants, breweries, casinos, movie theaters. and wineries within drivable distance.

While the room was on the small side, the kindness of the management (Keith) easily made it feel cozy. Unfortunately we did not eat at the Chophouse, but we did have a couple of drinks at the bar one night. Again great service and friendly. We had an appetizer and drink which were very good.
Woodfield is close to everything we wanted to do. We hit Camelback snowtubing, Crossing outlets and horseback riding. Thanks to Keith for making us feel welcomed.
