Williams & Stuart Real Estate

I am a real estate investor for over 11 years and experienced the worst display of ethical behavior from Williams and Stewart Real Estate. In the process of puchasing a property from this company i was 2 business days late deliveing a reply to the housing inspections. Rightfully, W&S at that point could have voided the contract, however, they did not and continued with negotiations off of the inspection for the next 3 weeks. When the seller and buyer were unable to come anywhere near an agreement based on the exposed deficiencies of the property, the seller, represented by Williams and Stewart attempted to go back and keep $ 10,000 of the buyers deposit because they felt the buyer «never really wanted the property» that same buyer had put a $ 21,000 deposit down and paid for a $ 1000 inspection. Williams and Stewart leveraged the 2 day delinquency, that had happened weeks prior, to eventually keep $ 5000 of the buyers money. Legal, yes, but moral, No! In the process of this the buyer asked for a face to face meeting with the seller to discuss which was denied. It is much easoer to void yourself of morality through email as opposed to looking at someone face to face and taking $ 5000 from them i strongly caution buyers against using Williams and Stewart. Are they legal, yes. Are they moral, No!
