I finally found a Groot POP figurine! Hallelujah! I had been looking everywhere, and after my yogurt stop at Sweetie’s, I popped in here and was pleasantly surprised. This is your typical cluttered comic book shop, but cluttered in this case means awesommeeee. Lots of newer comics available and a crap ton of figurines for your nerd dungeon.(I like nerd dungeons).

Went to Rogue Comics for a gift for my brother’;s 50th birthtday. Rogue’s manager/owner was very understanding and patient in picking out a spiderman gift for my brother(even though my knowledge of such items was very low compared to my brother). The real proof of how good and appropriate the gift was in how my brother reacted when he opened my gift at his birthday party. Great shop and I would happily do business with them again.

If the only thing you know about«comic book shops» comes from the Android’s Dungeon on «The Simpsons,» this isn’t really going to dispel any of that. You walk in and the first thing you see isn’t actually comic books, but a huge display case of needlessly expensive statues depicting jailbait double-D female superheroes. It’s not quite pornographic, but it reeks of «sad, lonely, horny nerd.» Their comics selection is of the Marvel-DC variety and that’s about it. Merchandise is just left in boxes out on the floor. The staff isn’t rude, but they seem so socially anxious — like they don’t know how to talk to people or find it to be a labored chore. They make all of their money in action figures and statues and all the other depressing BS junk that stunted man-children spend their lives obsessively collecting. I wanted to check this place out and convinced my girlfriend to come along; after we left, I felt like I had to apologize to her.

This is the absolute best comic book shop in terms of action figure selection. They pretty much sell every new figure that gets released. If there’s a figure I am really interested in, I’ll go here. The pricing on the figures is pretty much full MSRP. Some are probably higher depending on the collectibility rating. That may bother people, but honestly, you may be paying the same amount from an online store plus S&H. You aren’t going to find the same comic-related toys at any of the big chain stores around. The next focus is their selection of current comic books, which is always good. Nothing to complain about here. They supplement the store with a nice selection of trades and graphic novels. You may not find some obscure graphic novels, but they have a lot. The store can have a bit of a cluttered feel to it though. They have a decent selection of back issues, but shoot themselves in the foot by places boxes around or on top of them preventing you from sifting through the boxes. It doesn’t happen all the time, but frequently enough that I have felt the annoyance. Rogue Comics has a great location in downtown Cranford. It makes for a very convenient place to pick up some comics and maybe hit up some other local shops for a bite to eat. The one annoyance people may find is you have to pay for parking during the week to shop here.
