Established in 1982.

Scandinavian-​owned and operated, Scandinavian American World Tours opened its doors in 1982 and passed into the ownership of Mikael and Linda Rasmussen. Passionate about travel to Scandinavia and its surrounding regions of Iceland, Greenland, the Baltics, and Russia, the ScanAm World Tours team is a diverse organization with decades’ worth of experience in the travel industry.

Found this travel company by accident and good karma! It’s an excellent choice for whatever Scandinavian adventure you may be planning, whether it’s off their menu or a la carte. We had them arrange the land portion of our thrip, hotels and train between cities, and we got a great deal: the hotels were without exception good and the trains seamless. I’d recommend this company without reservations.

Mikael at ScanAm created a wonderful 16 day vacation for the 4 of us in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. We had a lot of complexity in the trip (including elderly with disabilities; and wanting to see many locations using different methods of travel: car, ferry, plane, train, bus; we needed some but not all hotels booked). He chose good hotels which were near main attractions. We were even able to walk from our hotel to pick up our rental car. Mikael gave us lots of advice and answered all of our many questions. We were sent a clear itinerary which worked without a hitch, and he included maps and bus/​transportation information as well. He was very tolerant when we had him make some major changes to our trip at the last minute. We had looked at many different tour companies, and are glad we chose ScanAm.

We had a wonderful experience booking our norway fjords excursion with Scanam. Our contact was very professional and knowledgable and made recommendations on what to see and do that turned out to be great. They booked us in fabulous luxury hotels, especially in Oslo and Bergen. And we loved our train and boat rides. They were fast to respond and we couldn’t have been more pleased with the service and the trip. We will use them again when traveling in Scandinavia.
