I like Lee’s Chicken, but I must say that it is really sad when you go at 7:30pm on a Monday(prime time dinner time) to redeem your free meal due to the last order being entirely incorrect, and you are told that there is no chicken, but they’ll drop some if you want to wait 20 to 25 minutes. Um, no thanks. I was a long time repeat customer, but this is beyond ridiculous. Oh well… there are more than one chicken places in the world. Peace.

It’s a chicken joint. The staff meets the expectations of price and quality. At least the front and seating area are generally clean.

Ok… it’s snowing, big, big flakes and it’s cold. So, instead of my original involved lunch plan, I elected to get some chicken from Lee’s a block from my office. Remember that I said it was cold outside… walking into Lee’s, I noted that it was either equal in temperature inside or even COLDER. Three people ahead of me placing their order while I stood there, shivering, feeling cold air moving through the business – did they have a/c on? Those people had a «to go» order and commented on how chilly it was in there upon exiting. I looked around and saw only one table occupied, two gentlemen sitting with their COATS on, eating. When the girl at the register asked me if I would be dining in, I told her it depended on whether they would turn the heat on. She agreed that it was«freezing» in there, and then asked the very crabby lady leaning on the counter in the back of the kitchen(who was already griping about something else to her co-worker) who abruptly said, «NO! We can’t do anything about the heat, we don’t control it.» Not, «I am really sorry, we think it’s cold, too, but unfortunately, it’s controlled from the corporate office» or «We’re sorry, the owner of our franchise doesn’t trust us with the utilities and treats us like mentally challenged people so they’re behind lockbox…» No chicken for me today… and probably not until the summer at this rate. Ridiculous!

My husband endured an entire year in Covington without me when he was transferred to the Cincinnati area. He survived solely because of this Lee’s Chicken place! At least once a week he walked from his apartment at the Arthur(see separate review) to get a two-piece dinner. Once I moved, we still ventured down occasionally to get a chicken dinner with sides for old time’s sake! The sides are the usual chicken dinner choices: macaroni & cheese, corn, cole slaw, mashed potatoes or potato wedges, biscuits. I like the chicken better than KFC’s. Funny sidebar: on his regular jaunts, my husband said the price of the two-piece dinner varied according to who took his order!
