I worked in Covington for over 5 years and I have always loved this place. Sometimes I would drive from Hammond just to come and eat here. Recently I went and the food wasn’t that great and neither was the customer service. The cashier acted as though we were bothering her by eating at their establishment. Usually the food is hot as though it was freshly cooked… not this time. My food was warm and the rice was a little hard. However, I love this place so much, I won’t write them off just yet. I’m going to give them one more chance before I pull the plug.

Our go-to spot for takeout — food is always fresh, ready within 15 min of calling in. The staff is friendly, offers a free cold drink whenever there’s a short wait. Best egg rolls we’ve found in the Mandeville/Covington area. And they don’t mind leaving the broccoli out of my favorite dish: spicy bean curd & vegetables.

The Chinese food was good and inexpensive. I love that the shrimp fried rice and the shrimp were deveined which is the way I prefer them. The food was ready quick and my family enjoyed it. I liked that they put the sweet and sour sauce on the side. At another Chinese restaurant in Covington they put the sauce on the chicken which personally I don’t like bc it gets soggy. I liked it quick, good, and cheap.

This is THE chinese takeout place on the Northshore. I have been going here for years. The food is always good! Its not that cheap grimy chicken stuff that you sometimes get at chinese restaurants. Its good, hot, and fast every time! There prices are very reasonable as well.

Also known as ‘The Cheap Chinese’ place, this little place gets filled up fast when we show up from church. Great service, and these guys remember you every time. Even while waiting for a take-put order, they give me a bottled water — on the house. They rock!

It’s a decent little cookie cutter Chinese place. There is little seating since most of their business is take out. They are usually very quick and the prices are perfect. Lunch combos are 5.50−6.00. Their customer service is good even with a slight language barrier. The food isn’t fantastic, but it’s good in a pinch.

We really enjoy their food. Great place to order to go. Have never been disappointed with fried rice, Chinese vegetables, General Tso’s chicken and Lo Mein.

This is a little Chinese place in a strip mall by PJs. I have only had the shrimp and Chinese vegetables here but I thought that was pretty good. The shrimp were nice and big and fairly plentiful and I thought the sauce was yummy. There were lots of good veggies in it. The fried rice didn’t seem like real fried rice(hardly any vegetables or meat in it). The place is sparkling clean and bright and it does have WiFi. It is pretty inviting to sit down and eat in. My advice is, if you are doing take-out and not eating in, go to China City. The food is better there but, if yout want to sit down and eat, eat here.

It was a Monday night and I had a major need for some Chinese food. These food cravings come and go and I can only put them off for so long. What to do, what to do? I just want something quick and take out so check locally and Golden Wok is just 5 minutes away. Sounds like a plan… well it was a plan that went wrong. My order was Crab Rangoon and General Tso’s chicken, which came with rice and egg roll. First the Crab Rangoon tasted as if it had been fried the chilled down and heated up in the microwave. You know how bread can often get that super hard, rubber type texture when you micro it too long? That is what the edges of the Crab Rangoon was like. I think I chipped a tooth. While the inside flavor was good, not a lot of crab and more flavor of celery but not overpowering on the cream cheese. The General Tso’s was just as disappointing. I don’t mind heat as well it’s General Tso’s so I expect a bit of a zip on my tongue. But I don’t expect that zip to have the flavor of black pepper and green pepper. Very odd flavor. I’m not even sure if those were the flavors I was tasting but it’s the closest thing I can describe it as. Also no broccoli??? it was placed on a bed of Chinese cabbage, bit strange IMHO. I will say this, my craving for Chinese has been placed on hold until I can find some place that has some decent reviews. Such a let down :(
