Somehow I ended up in this little bitty town of Covington VA one weekend in the summer. It was either here or our choice of fast food chains… I’ll take the home-cooking. It was quite a spectacle of sorts. Small place consisting of mostly booths, a few tables and some seats at the bar. Everything we ate tasted exactly like what you would expect if you were going to eat at a cafeteria at a nice elementary school. I highly doubt that everything was made from scratch, my fried fish filet was definitely from a frozen bag. But when you are hungry and in a dinky little town, this is as good as you can get. Oh I forgot to mention, they make a terrific butterscotch milk-shake! BTW If you are into people-watching(which I am a HUGE fan of) then go ahead and get some pop-corn out and ready. Our sweet waitress was sporting a faded black Toby Keith t-shirt and a fanny pack with ankle socks and denim half-pants. =) If this restaurant existed here in DFW, I would say 1 star but given the location and the other variables, I give it a 2.5 which I rounded to a 3 star.
