Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Covington, LA

My fiancé and I stayed here overnight when celebrating our anniversary. This is a beautiful, charming hotel. It feels like home and we actually spent about an hour and a half watching football on the super comfortable couch in the lobby/​common room area. We also spent time sitting in the rocking chairs on the front porch, so relaxing. Kathy at the desk was awesome– friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and we would definitely stay here again!

I stayed here on business. Everyone was very polite and helpful. The rooms were clean and quiet, and the free breakfast was a great addition. They have chocolate chip cookies when you walk in. This place is made to look like a B&B, and they do a pretty good job. My only complaint is the room smelt like body odor. I think it was coming from the air conditioner because it was intensified when the thing ran. All in all, I would come back, but would ask for a different room.

Great service, especially Kathy at the desk, clean rooms, comfortable lobby, free breakfast, fresh baked cookies, porch with rocking chairs, a pool and hot tub, fitness center and a business center. This hotel has everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay.

What a great experience. The big hotel chains need to take some lessons from this place and their staff. We pulled in to a very well kept hotel and greeted by very friendly staff. Looking behind the desk I was able to see all the awards this hotel has received for it’s excellent accommodations and great staff. The room was immaculate and super clean in fact the whole place was immaculate. The pool was very nice and the Jacuzzi was even the right temperature. All throughout the day the staff smiled and was helpful and passed out fresh baked cookies. I felt almost like was a t a bed and breakfast. After a restful nights sleep we woke up to a wonderful free breakfast. I have stayed a lot of places and believe me when I say that free breakfast can be a disaster. The choices to eat were many and it was maintained perfectly all the way until breakfast ended. This is a top place to stay for anyone and is convenient to just about anything. Thanks so much to all the friendly staff for making our stay so wonderful.

We have stopped here a few times while driving to Alabama. My kids love that they have complimentary fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and that you can make yourself hot chocolate, tea and/​or coffee. They have board games, cards and books that you can take to your room and use while you are there. They also have a Wii you can play in the front room where they serve breakfast in the morning. The breakfast is decent and pretty much what you would expect nowadays for a breakfast that is included with the room. We also like the rocking chairs in the front and it gives it a homey feel.

Nice overnight hotel. Quiet. Nicely run. Choc chip cookies at checkin. Friendly staff, eager to please. Good value. Breakfast on real plates, silverware, and coffee cups. Warm pool, hot tub, inter hotel library, Wii in lobby.

Very nice clean hotel. The staff is very friendly and the place is obviously well managed. The lobby is simple but very nice and the breakfast is way above average for a hotel in this category. I would recommend as an affordable pleasant place. Bed and pillows clean and comfortable.
The was a terrible review that suggested that there was some dirty stuff under the bed. I check our bed and there is a box around the bed that would prevent anything from being slid under the bed, like most hotels. So that review is obviously full of …

Great Breakfast. Modern Rooms and the central location, near two state parks and across Ponchtrain from NOLA, make this a great choice. Add in the fact that this hotel is the Priceline express deal for the area and you have a hand down winner.

After reading some reviews online I chose the Country Inn and Suites on Holiday Blvd in Covington for our two night stay on January 10 – 11, 2014. We arrived late on Friday night after calling to have them hold our room. We arrived about 1:00 am very tired after a long drive. My first impression after walking in the door was — CLEAN! The counter person was very nice and efficient and had us checked in fast with no issues — we had two rooms. There were chocolate chip cookies ready and waiting when we arrived. I was very pleased that what I had read in the reviews was very true. This hotel has no smoke smell at all. Some reviews say this and when you get there, there is a covered up smell of smoke. This hotel literally has no smoke smell, and no smell at all. It smells brand spanking new! I guess by now you can tell smell is a big thing with me, lol The hotel does have three floors, stairs and an elevator. The lobby was very nice with a sitting area, eating area, and a small business area. Snack machines are located only on the first floor, but drink machines are located on all three floors. I did not have any need for the laundry so I can not review that area. The rooms are a nice size with the usual bed covers for a lower-​mid priced hotel. There was a microwave, fridge, chair, small table, and closet. The pillows were fluffy not flat. The first room we checked into was dirty. There were crumbs in the bed and — I hate to say it — a bug. It was NOT a bed bug. It looked almost like a flea but it wasn’t. I believe it was some type of bug native to this area. It was only one, we did not find any others at all, and believe me, we looked high and low! I called the desk and was immediately told a new key would be brought up to me with a new room assignment. Shortly, she arrived with apologies and a new key with a room just down the hall. The new room was in order and we had a great nights sleep. I do believe the dirty room was just a fluke. Other than that the room was very clean. There are restaurants close by and the hotel is very easy to find.

We really liked everything about this hotel.
We arrived at 2 AM and had our room on hold after calling them to inform our late arrival. A cheery receptionist and a free chocolate chip cookie made us feel welcome along with the clean and well kept lobby. We asked the receptionist about the safety and security of the parking lot. We were informed that it was very safe and that she leaves her car unlocked! We were tired and left our belongings in the car besides for what we needed for the night. No problem.
We missed breakfast in the morning, so I can’t review that part. The business center was nice — 2 computers w/​2 laser printers — super easy and friendly to use.

I know many hotels are just about the same, some are great some suck ass. This one was pretty good, i am glad we stayed here after a night out after office Xmas party with drinking. Had a late night work party and it was too far to drive home after so i decided to get a room for the night so i could enjoy more Rum & Diet drinks. I am happy i choose this one, first off it was set back off the main strip so was quiet and not allot of traffic. Walking in it felt clean and friendly and the front desk girl was very nice and helpful and made me feel welcomed. Got my key and dropped off my bag, as i walked in the room the bed was nice big and lots of room, felt like the high end room i had on my honey moon. I turned the A/​C as cold as it would go since i like it freezing. After the party and i got back to my room i took a shower and the tub was big with lots of extra room for my big butt. I didn’t like the fact the tub didn’t have any grip or slip tape, so i had to be careful of my footing. The toilet was comfortable but felt a little low, guess i am spoiled at home with my high rise long bowl. I slept great, when i woke i was freezing my ass off i forgot to lower it from earlier, but it was awesome how cold it was able to get the room. I found the frig and microwave i wished i thought to look earlier since i threw away some food. I had a great stay and if i ever need to stay on the Northshore again this will be my first and probably only choice.
