Avoid this place at all costs.
After spending time looking at local car shops near me, I chose to go here and boy do I regret it.
Of course at first they were all really friendly, and talking highly of their work on how they specialize with Infiniti cars. Yes, I will admit Infiniti cars are really delicate but if you specialize in these cars there shouldn’t be a problem. I went in having one issue and came out with another. The gauge needle on my car was stuck so I took it in, and then get a call that they’re really backed up and wanted to keep my car overnight.
The next day I get a call that my car was finally done and on arrival I make sure and inspect my car as they do before they accept the job. I step inside my car, and the needle was working perfectly. In my mind I was like great! Then I look around everything is looking just as I left it, but then I roll down my windows and my drivers side window was stuck. They looked at each other in kind of a panic, and said that my motor was gonna die soon anyways.
I said no, my window was working perfectly and anyways how would they know? Maybe because they’re the pros or the specialists right? Or maybe because they forgot to follow the specific Infiniti procedure when unhooking a battery on my car, which is known if not followed properly can damage your window motors. Hmmm… And then offered to order a new window motor and install it, but at this point do I trust them? And you would also think that maybe they would offer some sort of discount because of what happened but no, they wanted to cash out and start a brand new job. $$$$$$$$$$$
Just stay away from this place if you want to avoid a headache, maybe they were once great many years ago but the people that are running it now have put this place to shame.

I will never go back to this place. I had the same issue as another reviewer with my ac mysteriously becoming hot. Carson is bogus and a con artist, they try and squeeze every dime out of you. The last time I went they took off my license plate cover and replaced it with their own TL motors cover. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! save your money go somewhere else.

I highly recommend this mechanic shop. I have a 2001 GMC Yukon and it runs like a champ thanks to TL Motors. They always give me an honest quote, never sell me anything I don’t need and do what they can to keep me on the road if and when my SUV needs seevice. Great family business and wonderful people to do business with. They always find a solution to my problem and go above and beyond. I believe they have extended the life of my vehicle inside and out. Excellent customer service and very friendly. Thank you TL. I appreciate all that you do.

I want to thank the guys at TL Motors, best customer service and a very clean mechanic shop. I had been taking my 2012 Scion to the dealer for the first 2 years and it was hell. A simple service would end up costing me $ 100s and almost my entire day. So, I got fed up and tried to find a more convenient place. Finally I found these guys and the last close to 2 years been going here for all my car needs. The guys are very educated about cars in general, specifically Toyota’s. I have had all my services done here and compared to other places it has cost me a lot less for more quality work.
I had all my major fluids flushed, air filter, cabin filter, and breaks changed. The entire job took about 2 hours and cost me a fraction of what it would have cost me elsewhere. Not comparing to the dealer. They explained everything that was going to be done and why I needed the services. Once started, I was updated on the status of my car and how everything’s going. The guys do a great job making customers feel comfortable and really appreciate the business you bring to their shop.
After coming to TL Motors I will not take my car anywhere else. It’s really nice how the team here remembers you by name and how well they treat you while you wait for the vehicle. The wait area always clean, warm coffee always ready, and cold water. Really doesn’t feel like you’re at a mechanic shop their cleanness and professionalism is worth every penny. Will definitely recommend friends and family to bring all their vehicles to TL Motors. It has been a pleasure bringing my car here. Thanks TL Motors for the outstanding service!

My entire family used to go here for our car needs. Oil changes were practically free. These days, it’ll be $ 70 or so. I ended up paying $ 170 because all of a sudden, I needed a new Cabin Air Filter for $ 65 ($ 30 for the filter, $ 35 for labor) and my air filter for another $ 34 ($ 21 for the filter, $ 13 for labor). My statement actually says $ 183 and some change.
My 2013 Toyota is pretty new. More miles on it than average, but no reason to fork over a ton of money. It was recommended I need new shocks and would run me close to $ 600 (more if you include labor and tax)? What for? I am way under 60,000 miles, which is the Toyota mileage warranty for shocks. I went to the Toyota dealership and they said this «shock leakage» is normal on all vehicles. It’s a lubricating mechanism when you hit speed bumps, pot holes, etc. Another shop told me it’s normal and my shocks are fine since my tires are wearing out evenly. TL Motors then called me and I told them that Toyotas are under warranty for shocks until 60K miles. Shouldn’t they know this since they service Toyotas, hence their name?
I was then recommended to change my Rear Differential Fluid (for about $ 100), Transmission Fluid (for about $ 115) and Clutch Fluid (for about $ 100). The best part? I needed this Throttle Body Service, which they convinced me of doing with my old car. Actually, the best part is recommending doing a Coolant flush for about $ 150.
I paid $ 80 total for the Rear AND Transmission Fluid. Spent two hours max doing it on my own. Not the $ 200+ this place quotes you at just for the fluids alone and extra for labor and then tax. I understand labor is what carries a business, but it’s not something I just want to pay for right off the bat.
Coolant? I am not forking over $ 150 or this. Did you guys know that (for my Toyota anyway) that Coolant is a long-​lasting one and should be good for 11 years or 137,500 miles? If anything, you can just top it off if you dip low. A jug from the Toyota dealership was $ 30.
As for this Throttle Body Service? Look on forums and anyone that knows cars and this is the biggest waste of money/​scam ever. They just pour this bottle of «cleaner» into your engine. Sometimes, you’ll even end up with an engine that is worse because of all the gunk and residue that the «cleaner» stuff left. I admit, they convinced me so much to get this on my old car so that I’d pass the new smog test rules. Side story on that, I needed to cough up almost $ 2000 to fix that car. They said that the car was worth $ 1500 according to the guys at TL Motors. I tried selling it to them because they know the car and have been servicing it (I didn’t know about cars then). They wanted $ 300 all of a sudden. Ok.

I needed an emergency jump start because my sister left the interior lights on. Immediately went on Unilocal and found TL Motors. They were conveniently located and were able to drop by within 20 minutes of my call. Portable jump start (my car is parked head first in the garage) was $ 15. Very pleased with speed and service… jump start only took a second and they were in and out in under 7 minutes.

I always run to Carson for any car issues! Carson and his team are professional and gets the job done! I always refer friends to TL Motors! They offer top service for reasonable prices. My family has been loyal customers for 15 years!!!

Quality operation. Quality employees. Quality shop. Quality inside support. The shop has it all. For the fortunate people who live in the Azusa area, this repair and inspection garage is run with high standards of excellence. Carson and his employees are extremely well trained in automotive ASE certificates, have years of experience, and the Carson Brian family has been in the automobile businesses for over 25 years in the San Gabriel Valley. The shop is clean, the employees polite and attentive to details, dedicated to doing only quality work. Carson has 12 plus certificates of ASE training as well as Citrus college degree. Background in Toyota training and service. The secretary is efficient, works hard, and is intelligent. Voice mails are answered promptly and completely. Office hours are listed and always followed. Outside parking for vehicles is available during the day, but you need to check in advance if you want them brought into the shops for security at night. Carson looked at a very nice GM inermediate size sedan, and found problems with the oil gaskets, oil pressure switch, low air conditioning temperatures, struts, brake pads and rotors, and radiator pressure cap that did not meet manufacturers standards to maintain pressure accurately. This shop is great. My only regret: I live in Camarillo, and the drive is 90 miles one way. But I went there to look at cars, and it was definitely worth it. Even with the drive, I can totally recommend TLMotors for quality repair estimates and car inspection, and for car sales of quality used vehicles that meet the standards of Carson Brian.

DO NOT go here. I was quoted $ 55 to install bulbs which I had already purchased. Once I get there they tell me it’s now going to be $ 132. Yeah not happening. So he offers to apply a coupon for $ 25. NOOOO you quoted me $ 55 and not you want to charge me double. BS, gimme back my keys! Btw, Lexus charges $ 100 for installation so why should these people charge more!!!

If it was possible to rank higher then a 5 star, you bet I would :) love how these guys are so honest, knowledgeable & pricing is so reasonable. Sean is one funny fella!!! Ill see you guys soon for my next oil change.

You’re sorry a lot at that shop. But the main thing is that if anyone should find something on their car in worse condition than they brought it in to you, I want them to know that this has happened before at your shop, and is not a huge coincidence. That way they can decide for themselves exactly what to do, and won’t be conned into more repairs.

TL motors has the best service I have ever seen. I am not from the area and my car wouldn’t start and they were able to get one of their men down to where I was to jump start my car. They showed great customer service, and were very respectful. I would highly recommend TL motors to anyone.

Had to go in for another pretty big service. as always Sean and Carson took care of my car. I even recieved $ 100 off parts and labor because of the handy coupons they send out ib the mail!!! Thanks again guys…

I first sent my parents here when the Toyota dealership tried over charging them for a repair on their Lexus ES350. I simply googled «Toyota repair in Covina» and up popped TL Motors. It was definitely a blessing in disguise. ever since then we haven’t taken our cars anywhere else! The service is exceptional, thorough and honest. Sean and Carson are simply the best! They’re trustworthy, funny, and extremely dedicated to making sure you get excellent service. After my first accident in January, I was faced with the decision to send my car to a repair shop my insurance recommended or to a shop of my choice. It was an obvious decision to choose my friends at TL and my car has never looked better. It looks better now than before the accident! I recently moved to Canoga Park and even with the hour drive, I’ll still be taking my 2008 Toyota Corolla to TL.

Had my 4Runner serviced by TL Motors and was VERY happy with their professionalism and friendliness. Thank you Sean and Crew for making a girl happy and no longer afraid to go alone to a mechanic! Its almost like I cant wait to get my car seviced again! Will definitley recommend them to all my friends and family.

I bring my 2008 Lexus IS250 for all of its service to Sean and Carson. They are great. Great customer service, very thorough on what needs to be done and best of all they aren’t pushy. I especially like the car being washed when I pick it up.
I used to bring it into the dealer for service but for the last one and half I have been going to TL Motors and will continue for as long as I own my current car.

With as much competition out there in the automotive industry, quality work and customer service are some of the most important things that separates great businesses from the rest. This place provides that and much more such as quick turn-​around time. I needed some important repairs on my Nissan a couple weeks ago and didn’t have a specific place in mind where I wanted to bring it. I didn’t want to just drop it off somewhere, in fear that some random technician would ring up the bill on me. I had asked around to several people and TL Motors in Covina came highly recommended. I not only wanted to ensure that my car was well taken care of and that I was as well and prices were reasonable. TL Motors was more than reasonable. They were able to devote the proper attention and then some in a timely manner with ease. They even educated me on some things to look for that I never knew to avoid future problematic situations. With as many choices out there to bring your car, I’m glad I brought mine here. This place is definitely one of the business’ that stand apart from the rest with great quality work and customer satisfaction.

I’ve known Sean and Carson for many years and they have always performed in a very professional manner. Their Customer Service is an A++ and the workmanship is just as good. I never have to fear about being «over sold» as they inform you what’s needed and educate you what might be needed down the road. I like that!!! I send my whole family here. A little out of our way but its worth the peace of mind! Great job guys!

Carson at TL motors took REALLY good care of my car! :) They are honest people with really great customer care who not only helped me out by giving me a special deal, but also did quality work on my car! I DEFINITELY would recommend their shop to friends and family!

Sean @ TL Motors are the best. Honest, reasonable prices and they stand by their work. They try to work within my budget and don’t sell me things I don’t need.

can wait a while.
It’s out of my way coming out from the IE, however they have saved me money in the long run and well worth the drive, I have all my family going there! Family owned and they take pride in that as that’s how they make me feel every time I go, you don’t find that in a auto shop anymore.
