Private Beach Tanning

I got a spray tan from a blonde employee. She was really nice but did not do a good job on the spray tan. She left me with uneven patches on the inside of my arms and on my feet (which made my feel look dirty), and my nails are orange. When she was done she said I would be able to check if the spray tan was dry by touching it, which then made my hands have spray tan residue on it and hasn’t come off.
I paid $ 45 for a horrible spray tan.

I love this salon.
I don’t tan a lot, only about 4 times my whole life and all for very special occasions. Brittany has always been so friendly and helpful. I only ever do the stand up bed because it prevents lines in my tanning and it’s a faster result. I have also tried their spray tanning and it’s great. I would recommend this salon to both occasional tanners and seasonal tanners.

Wow! I love this salon and everyone who works here. Unlike other tanning salons, the staff is sweet and professional, not snobby or pushy with their lotions

It’s been a while since I’ve actually tanned in a lay down bed since my gym has stand up tanning. I was driving by and stopped by Private Beach. I was greeted once I walked in, very friendly! I said it was my first time here and was interested in a session. I was given details on all the beds and levels and memberships. I was given a tour and was super impressed by the location and bed types. I chose a bronzing bed and I was like woah! This bed is amazing! I will definitely be coming back and getting a membership!

Best tanning salon around!!! I have been to many places for airbrush tanning and had awful experiences. Not the case with Private Beach, you will have the best airbrush tan of your life here! Definitely recommend this place!

If you are reading this, you are looking for a tanning bed in Covina. This is NOT the place to go to. The employees there are ill-​informed of their own procedures and DO NOT inform the customers and secondly, have bad attitudes. No one told me there was a 15 day period when your account is put on hold so I came back from vacation and my account was closed even though I have been a long standing customer. Really? It’s a tanning salon… not some high end business.
I WILL NEVER GO to this place ever again. In this economy surely the owner of this place would hire people that have pleasant attitudes and treated their customers better and made exceptions to keep people returning.
There are plenty of other tanning places that will gladly accept my money.

I was MOH for my friend’s wedding and I tried on my dress a few days prior to her big day and realized I was as pale as Casper. So what did I do? — I Unilocaled the nearest tanning salon and found this place. It was a Wednesday and I needed a tan by that weekend. Brittany, one of the nice employees there, told me my options were either a spray tan or a tanning bed. I chose the latter for fear I wouldn’t like the outcome of the spray tan. I started that day followed by 2 more sessions.
The result was amazing! I definitely got the color I wanted and it was fast and easy. I’m loving my even tan! So if you want to look like you’ve been on an island sipping mojitos, come here and get ur tan on.

If you want a great tan this is your place… it’s your private beach this tanning salon is my favorite they have extended hours for all you working man and women they environment is extremely clean The staff is absolutely amazing and friendly I look forward to going to my private beach…

I started going occasionally, (special events, or Vegas trips for spray tans and the beds) to Private beach a few years back prior to the new ownership, but I almost felt obligated to go because it was so close to home and convenience was everything…
Since Brittany took over the salon the impact was immediate. The hole vibe changed for the better, even the workers had a new smile on their faces. I enjoy coming in now, very friendly and polite, and most importantly any questions or concerns I’ve had they’ve been more then helpful.
They have multiple levels of beds, that are very affordable, level 1 beds to the bronzing beds. I use both, I’ve never had a bed with a bulb that’s been out. Very clean, great selection of lotions with great pricing. You just can’t go wrong with Private beach if I could, I’d most definitely give a higher rating then a 5.

I live in downtown LA and work in Pomona — there are literally DOZENS of tanning places along my route to work and around where I live, however after trying several this place is the winner, hands down!
I’ve been to tanning places before where either the owners/​staff or the clientele are snobby/​unfriendly and it just makes the place uninviting no matter how nice it is. But here the owner (Brittany) is SO nice and friendly — just a truly good person who remembers my name even through my infrequent visits — and makes you feel totally at home :) It is always such a pleasant experience to come here!
The salon itself is so cute — I am a HUGE fan of the décor — beach themed (with the name, go figure haha) and every room is named after a SoCal beach and has all the amenities you’d expect — chair, clothes hanger/​peg, place to put your items, CD player, etc.
I’ve only used the tanning beds but I must definitely give them 5 stars — the last place I was at I needed to stay in for 20mins to get less of a tan than I do staying in for 8 mins here: really good sunbeds!!! They won’t burn you with proper use, they’re just way more efficient than others I’ve experienced at other places.
Brittany is also super helpful about answering any tanning-​related questions you might have! I was unsure about spending $ on a teeth-​whitening product as I’ve used some in the past before that either I didn’t like or didn’t work. She pointed out the Twi-​light product for me and I really like it! Thank you!
This is my go-​to place for tanning and it’ll be yours too!
Oh, tip: you’ll get your eye-​goggle thingies the first time you sign up — bring them every time as they are yours to keep & aren’t handed out every day (which I prefer)

Been here a few times now and I love it! I went in as a newbie and everyone was so nice and patient and explained everything as I asked all my questions :) Everything is nice and clean and they always greet you on the way in and out! This place is great and if you are looking for a good place, here it is!

Best tanning place in san gabriel valley. Best prices and very clean. Brittany gives great customer service! The bronzing beds are the best and the airbrush tan looks great too.

Love this place! The staff is always friendly and you never have to wait! This is my 2^nd year coming before I take off to Miami, two week in the bronzing beds does the trick!

I stumbled upon this tanning salon on my way to the post office. I was in and out within 20minutes. There was a short wait time, my room was clean, the bed I selected was great, the tanning lotion i picked was just perfect and I now have an even tan.
Will I go back? Yes.
Do I recommend it? Yes.

I love this tanning salon! super friendly staff a good variety of lotions and superclean salon! I came in late one night and they still let me tab so I really appreciate it (hate to be that person but I really needed to tan haha!) But they have great lotion and tanning sermon specials so if you are looking to tan I highly recommend this place!!!

This was my first tanning experience. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was pleased with Private Beach Tanning. I was going to be attending a wedding and wanted to spare everyone of my paleness. So I was looking for a great spray tan.
I initially called making 2 appointments, one for me and one for the Bride to be. The girls who amswered were always friendly and knowledgeable. Since it was going to be my first time I had alot of questions. I called a few times to change appointment times and then eventually to cancel my sister in laws.
When I arrived the office was nice and beachy themed. I kinda felt bad for the girl because it seemed quite and lonely. Elizabeth was adorable! I explained it was my first time. I also explained I was embarrassed with my body (I didn’t go completely nude, I wore a bra and panties). She was very professional and talked the whole time which kept my mind off being so embarrassed. Those mirrors were so unforgiving.
The tan itself was a great color. Not orange and really natural looking. I went with the classic. However there were some spots that were uneven. They informed me that the tan comes with 1 free touch up. Its normally 1 day after your initial visit. I called the day after and Spoke to Brittany, I couldn’t go in the next day so she let me come in on the second day. She then sprayed me and fixed most of the uneveness.
I was very happy with customer service and the tan. Because I’m so pale and white I really enjoyed the tan. It wasnt perfect, but it was close enough. Hubby did not like me tan. I honestly liked it and even told Brittany I could see myself getting addicted to it.
The only con to spray tanning was the uneveness. The tan looked good about 3 days. After shaving and showering it started coming off unevenly.
I would highly reccomend Private Beach Tanning!

I just finished getting a spray tan, and I love it! I got the classic spray tan, which is the lighter of the two spray tans offered. I thought I wasn’t going to be tan, but I actually have a really pretty, sun kissed glow. The whole thing takes about 10 minutes, so it was faster than any spray tan I’ve ever gotten before.
The inside of the business is stunning. I don’t think I’ve seen any kind of salon as big as this one. The hallway is so long that it looks like an optical illusion! There is really cute décor all over– obviously beach themed.
Overall, this is my favorite tanning salon.

Definitely not what I expected. I made an appt. with the owner for 630 and arrived about 10 minutes early since I had never been before and expressed that to her over the phone. She stated we would go over the shades and prices and would show me pictures to get an idea of how dark I wanted to be.
Once I get there, the owner greets me and tells me it’ll be a few moments and then one of her associates takes me back. I was never shown any pictures or even discussed pricing. The girl who was spraying me was friendly and kept conversation. I expressed I had never been there and she welcomed me. She then proceeded to spray me and then tell me she would be back to see if I needed any areas to be redone or if I wanted a little more.
I was definitely surprised that after she sprayed me I could barely tell, so once she came back in she asked if I needed a little more anywhere else and I had her spray my legs once more.
Not at any point did she say that it would be an extra $ 15 to do more. I didn’t find this out until she mumbled the price when I was ready to pay. Are you serious, would I really only spray my legs again, might as well have done my whole body over.
$ 45 for a spray tan that didn’t even last 3 days… Waste of my time and money. I will definitely not be coming back.
