I first stopped by Jesse’s five or six years ago, mostly because of reviews I saw on Unilocal and other web-​sites. I had just moved into the area and I was looking for someone I could trust with my hair as well as my kids. Pretty quickly I realized Jesse not only knew how to cut hair very well but was the kind of hair stylist (don’t call him a barber to his face!) who is deeply connected to everyone who comes thru his doors. Fathers bring their sons to Jesse and those kids grow up and bring their sons to Jesse. My family and I have developed this kind of relationship with Jesse as well. Yes, Jesse has his opinions and he will not hesitate to share them. He may not be the most PC guy in the world, but he is wildly funny and if you are open to him, he might just charm your socks off. Sometimes walking into Jesse’s is like walking into a party — he may offer you a beer or a shot. My favorite time to see Jesse is when it is not too busy and I can sit and talk with him. That’s when you realize how much Jesse cares about what he does and how committed he is to his customers and his community. Do yourself a favor and stop by – thank me later!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! He did a fantastic job of cutting and styling my hair. My hair was down past my butt and I was afraid for someone to cut it short but Jesse did an amazing cut up to my shoulders that made my hair more healthier, it bounced and I get so many compliments. I was referred to him by my good friend Alina who has amazing hair by Jesse. He is an acquired taste to get to know but his talents on hair are phenomenal.

I was at elvies and remember coming In this place with my buddy Jeff to get our hair cut! My cut was ok but Jeff ended up with a mullet style cut. We got In the car and I told him go get that fixed the barber Jesse said to him what’s wrong with your cut. He’s like dude you gave me a mullet. So the barber complaining fixed it but was extremely rude and profane when doing it. I give him 4 stars for the cut and a –2 for having a bad attitude! Don’t come to this place the owner is rude.

Walked in ask for a trim and clean up around the ears, ended up leaving with one of the best hair cuts I’ve ever had. Jesse is a great at what he does. Sit in his chair and just let him do what he does. Will definitely be back. And even bring him a beer. FYI cash only. But if you’re looking for a new place to get your hair cut stop by his place.

I’ve known Jesse since I was 19. He has cut my hair off and on for years. I am now 30 and I still find myself coming back to him. Yes he can be very crass and brutally honest with his regulars and even strangers who get on his nerves. But hey, it’s his shop. He knows how to make everyone look good and your cut lasts the way a quality job should.

No no no… never again… this place reminds me of a joke… Man tells the barber Give me a 0 on top a 4 on the side a 1 on the left and a 3 on the right… Barber says that will look terrible man says that a what you did to me last time!

Honestly, where do I begin? I have been coming to Jesse since I was a kid, so for 20 years basically! Jesse is not just an excellent hair stylist, but one of the greatest, kindest, most caring and genuine human beings on this entire planet. He is an expert in what he does, and he cares about all of his clients. He will style your hair to perfection based on your face shape, age, etc. I trust no one other than Jesse to touch my hair! Look no further, Jesse is the BEST!!!

If you want a high quality cut and color, you have to go see Jesse! With beer while you color, Jesse can do no wrong! He is such a honest and genuinely good person, you have to see him to believe it!

I wanted to get a new haircut. I didn’t really have any particular style in mind but I desperately needed to get a trim. My ends were split, and my hair was just pathetic. I’ve been to a few hair salons but I’ve never stuck to one stylist because I am never really impressed by any one stylist. I’ve had nice hair styles but it’s always the same thing. You walk into a salon they sit you down and they ask you what you want. I’m the type of person that goes to see a stylist because I want them to do the work. I’m no hair stylist, and I don’t know what looks best on me. I usually ask the stylist’s advice, and I always get the same answer. «Well, your hair is nice so I’ll just trim it.»…eh, boring! When I called Jesse, I wanted a walk-​in appointment but he didn’t have anything until later since he was busy on a saturday and his other employee was unable to come in on this particular saturday. So I figured I would just call someone else and get my haircut out of the way. But just when I was about to hang up, something was different about Jesse. He understood that I wanted an earlier appointment but he made me feel like he actually valued my business. He reached out. He said «If you could come in, you’d love my shop!» and so I decided oh what the heck, I’ll try this new place out. So I waited to go to my appointment which worked out great because I live 2 minutes away! When I walked in Jesse greeted me with a smile and sat me down. He was very friendly and welcoming. After I sat down, he explained to me how his shop ran. He was extremely honest and he offered me a beer and when I told him that I wasn’t much of a beer drinker he offered me a glass of wine. I enjoy a glass of wine every now and then so I agreed. He noticed he didn’t have any wine so he had one of his guys go to the store and pick me up a bottle of wine. That was very nice, and I appreciated that. He then showed me where my stuff goes, and he explained that on the first visit he gives a consultation. He was completely honest and he made it clear that he doesn’t run a foo foo shop. At first, I was a little overwhelmed with his personality but after talking to him for about 5 minutes I was sure I wasn’t going to go anywhere else. Jesse loves hair and is passionate about making everyone look great after he is done with them. I loved his genuine passion for the art of hairstyling! He knew what he was talking about, and he wasn’t afraid to be honest. I didn’t even tell him what kind of haircut I wanted but he explained what he thought would look best and I trusted his advice. He made my hair look healthy, shiny, stylish, and beautiful. I didn’t have any make up on and I was dressed like a bum but he made me look great anyway. I ended up having a great time with Jesse. He has a lot of great stories and makes getting a haircut fun. My friends and family loved my hair and told me so. I’m already looking forward to my next appointment!

This place is great and Jesse is amazing! Absolutely love my new hair cut and will definitely be returning!

Hair cut was grade A. Great and prompt service, very friendly environment, even drank a beer while getting my hair cut. Overall was good experience but WAAAAY over priced for a mans simple fade haircut. $ 24 for a fade!!!

Went with my friend to go get his hair cut and Jesse was super nice and very sweet!
My friend actually knows him from i guess way back so i was just there on the sofa drinking beer! My friend loves his cut and i gotta admit he did look good!
Only con would be that he does smoke like crazy but i sat next to the door so it wasn’t so bad. All in all i say he does do good work!

As mentioned, he gives you honest feedback and does not have a problem telling you «no». If you bring him a picture of a celebrity, don’t expect him to make you look like that — he enhances YOUR uniqueness and beauty and will create a look that will best suit your features. He’s a master at his craft and you won’t think of going anywhere else after your first visit.

Well this Seattle Blonde decided to get a clean up and shuttin up by Jesse himself. What a bunch of fun this was! you will find a man trained the world over from Spain to the United States when it comes to hair, fashion (so he thinks) and of course the vibe of the tribe! everyone comes in to this place so be ready to consider this an indoctrination to the «Culture of Jesse» let him walk, talk, and chalk the lines on your head so he can cut/​trim and sculpt the look within. For Men I recommend! and as a hint: 2^nd visit BYOB! Thanks Jesse! you cleaned me up great!

Jesse is an heavy drinker and smoker. Stay away from this place, unless you want to come out smelling like cigarettes and alcohol! If you plan on bringing your kids in get ear plugs for them because he can’t control his language!

Well what else can I say I love this place! Best spot to go for a cut and shave, Ive been going here for years. I would feel like I was cheating if i went anywhere else. YES good indeed!

For all the times ive ever gotten my hair done the experience with Jesse was by far the best. What i really luvd was the fact he took the time out to do a COMPLETE consultation of my hair and my features and what he reccomends to enhance your beauty and uniqness. Why i keep going back is because his cuts are an art work. No really, he has a special technique when he cuts your hair that keeps the shape and ive recieved many compliments. Also Jesse has no problem telling you no, lol. Who wants someone to just agree with you just to make a sale? I appreciate honesty and with that Jesse is the expert and can prove it in his work. I would definitly reccomend trying his services out :)

Jesse is simply the best! A fantastic atmosphere coupled with the best haircut in Los Angeles. Jesse is highly decorated, having earned awards and credentials in America and Europe, as well. He requires a consultation for females, but the 15 minutes is the best investment in your hair you will ever make, ladies. I’ve been through countless hairstyles myself, and Jesse has executed them all… flawlessly. Fellas, enjoy an old-​fashioned barber shop where you can get a salon-​quality cut. Relax with old friends and make new ones. If you haven’t been to Jesse yet, you need to go soon!

If you ever go to Jesse’s, you can forget about going anywhere else for a haircut, for the rest of your life. Probably one of the friendliest people you will ever meet in your entire life and at the same time very professional and amazing at his craft. Jesse has been trained all over Europe and worked with some of the best hairstylists in the world. You not only get an amazing haircut everytime, you get good conversation, good company, and a good time.
