Furry Fellas Dog Walking & Pet Sitting Service

I loved the sense of comfort that my furry felines were well looked after when I was away. This is a wonderful service. I highly recommend their pet sitting services. Sending pics and texts really was appreciated! They are the best !

Furry fellas is great! Our dog walker is Danielle and she’s always been easy to get a hold of. If she isn’t able to walk out dog, Danielle works with furry fellas to coordinate a back up walker (it’s usually Sharon who has also been very pleasant). The cost is reasonable and payments are easy to make online. We highly recommend them.

I really like Furry Fellas. I have a super hyper and twitchie dog and they’re dog sitter Rose was so incredibly good with her. My Bunky actually got excited staying there… that never happens. I’m a fan!

I gave Furry Fella’s boarding service another shot, because they now have a location for boarding in Providence. The new provider, Korinna, has a beautiful (large) home in the Hope/​Rochambeau area. Her house has a huge backyard with a lot of space to play, enclosed by tall fences and accessed by a dog door (which I had to «teach» my dogs to use, heh).
There were a total of four dogs (two of mine, and two others) that weekend, and my dogs had a great time and were very tired out when I picked them up. Korinna was great about texting me to let me know how things were going throughout the weekend.
After living in New England for awhile now I can say that their prices are are comparable to everywhere else, but for a better service (at a kennel your dog doesn’t get to snuggle with anyone!).
I would definitely recommend the Furry Fellas boarding services at either location.

We’ve only used the pet sitting service once, but intend to use them for all future trips. Ellen was an absolutely wonderful sitter for our 3 cats. She left detailed notes and kept in touch initially by text, as requested, to let us know that all was well. Our elderly cat is notorious for hiding the entire time we’re gone and eating poorly. Ellen took the time to earn his trust and made sure he was eating. This may have been the only trip we’ve taken where we didn’t return home to anxious cats. All three were happy and relaxed.

I have two cats and I looked for cat sitter companies after I had moved to Providence last year. I had a terrible experience with the one cat sitter I worked. Thanks God, I found Melody and Casey from Internet. I had the reassurance after talking to Melody on the phone and decided to work with the company. I should say that they are very professional. The prices could have been a little higher comparing with the companies but a few dollars are not important when your precious babies are in question. My cats seem happy and well taken cared of when I am away. More importantly Casey; their cat sitter love cats and understands their language, plays with them, brings toys for them. She provides information about them after every visit which gives you confidence while you are away from home and she knows how they actually they mean to me. I am very happy to work with them and I highly recommend Furry Fellas for cat sitting service.

Overall, I was not thrilled with the service. The service stopped because I moved (though I was unhappy with the sitters and would have switched had I not moved). Perhaps most tellingly, when I moved back to Rhode Island after having a wonderful experience with our dog walker in Norfolk, Massachusetts, I chose two different companies that I have been incredibly happy with. Having used four different dog walking companies in MA and RI in the past three years, I find Furry Fellas prices to be quite high in comparison. We had four different sitters from Furry Fellas, two of whom were quite good and we were happy with. The last two we had were not of the same caliber. One of them was terrified of our dog and the other was just very inexperienced. I was not impressed, particularly given the amount of money that we were paying. I am not sure if the company was stretched too thin, but there are definitely better options available in the area where the walkers are very experienced, love dogs, have reasonable prices, and really tire the dogs out. I am very wary of large pet sitting/​walking companies, particularly because I don’t think all of the walkers are properly vetted, and there can be so much turnover. My experience is demonstrative of how hit or miss it can be, and when you are paying hundreds of dollars a month and handing over your fur baby, I’d rather be safe than sorry.
I know that this service has been rated well by Animal Print readers, but I’d take that with a grain of salt… or perhaps the entire salt shaker! One, how many people actually vote in that survey? Two, I’d be willing to be bet most of the voters are solicited by the business. Some of the best pet related companies I’ve dealt with don’t come up on the Animal Print survey, so beware…
